That lake reminds me of the time I spent in South Dakota and fishing in the blackhills. Trout everywhere. This year I joined a few buddies at a cabin in PA and we were hitting the trout using #4 Panther Martins. Great time, can’t wait till next April!

It’s one of the highest lakes in AZ, not that we have many hahah. Powerbait and worms do well for smaller fish and shore fishing, but me and my buddies usually throw lures. Tomas boyant trout or watermelon spoons usually do really well but the last two years have been so so, so disappointing! But this last trip I think our group got and ate 4 good hold over keepers IMG_6833.jpg

Bummer. Some time next year there will be a destination wedding at lake Havasu we will be attending. Don’t think I could squeeze in a 12 hour round trip though.

IYKYK. This place ruined trout fishing for me, forever. Nothing smaller than 3lbs, best fish of the this trip was just under 12lbs by one of the ladies on board.

I’m not a bait fisherman at all, but you gotta do what you gotta do……
I threw spoons and spinners that always produce, for an hour and nothing!!! Power bait is king at this local hole, I used some garlic power eggs. My youngest insisted on using his 2’ pole(definitely needs an upgrade) and caught more than me!!! IMG_8330.jpg Soooo stoked! :DIMG_8418.jpg IMG_8406.jpg IMG_7107.jpg

down here, we got stockers that are the same way. Berkley makes power worms for trout and one's called "rat tails" it's just a tiny ass worm with a ball. Shit works when they don't wanna eat a "moving bait"

also baby "classic floater" rapala jerk baits. The ones made of balsa are killer just slow rolled back to you. 2" to 1.5" IMG_5083.jpg

Daughter was able to get out gigging. They made it thru the small ones and onto the big/legal ones and the outboard give out. So they called it because on a small Briggs for a fan motor it was going to be a long trip to the dock. She stuck more than enough to have stuffed flounder some evening soon.

I’ve fished them before, at Guadeloupe. They were bigger there, but not as many of them. Fished the south end of Cedros the last three days. Monday was slow to get our limits, but we did after close to 8 hours. Took close to 5 hours on Wednesday for our 20 fish and just 3.5 hours on Thursday. My 39# toad was the biggest for our group, and it about whipped my ass.

You’re limited to 73# total luggage weight per person, so it’s imperative that you pack as light as possible. My son and I shared a small tackle box that was filled specifically for this trip. A few yo-yo jigs, some surface irons, bait hooks, and some sinkers was the majority of it. These fish are not line shy, so just take 80# flouro…. They weighed our luggage after we packed up, and we each have 57.5# of processed, vacuum sealed, and frozen fillets. All our combined crap came to only 31#… I left my old clothes in the trash and donated the lead to the pangeros.

Just spent a week fishing down in Delacroix, LA. Caught a bunch of speckled trout and this 17 pound redfish. I’ve caught some pretty big bull reds at Grande Isle. But this is the biggest I’ve ever caught in the marsh.

Holy fuck! That’s a giant Yellowfin. Biggest one I’ve seen till now was a photo of a (if I remember correctly) 413# YFT in the galley of the Vagabond.
