So I have been thinking of a way to protect my radiator from a deer strike type event. Opting out of the “Mad Max” themed bumper, I’m curious if any of you have ideas on how to protect the radiator/engine while somewhat maintaining the original look of the truck?

I have looked at, and eliminated the steel mesh replacement options. Honestly they seem pretty weak being mostly screwed into plastic. I don’t think they can take a hit.

    My two working theories are…
    1) Cutting and welding 1” serrated galvanized steel flooring grates to replace the factory grill.

    2) Cutting and welding steel square tubing behind the factory grill.

I’m wide open to ideas and or stories if you have any experience in an event like this.

    Thanks in advance!

Do you have a rough napkin sketch to what you're wanting? I read " I don't want MadMax, but would this MadMax idea work? "

I'm special, crayons and napkins make me see things better :monocle:
