Has anyone replaced the foam insulation that’s attached to the underside of the engine cover of the 5.7?

Rodents have been eating the foam so I’d like to remove it and replace with something else.

Replacing that would be the least of my concern. They’ll be going for your wiring harnesses next. Get rid of the mice, first.

Definitely working on that, but also looking for ideas for replacing the insulation. Or, should I leave it as a "sacrificial anode"? :monocle:

There’s no aftermarket solution to replace that. It’s glued there from the factory. The fact that you even have rodents in the engine bay is critical. The insulation on the wires in these trucks is soy based as rodents love eating it. One nibble could render your truck useless and leave you with costly repairs

If you haven't already get rid of the plastic engine cover, it just makes a nice hiding spot.

I wouldn't worry about replacing the foam. I took my cover off and noticed 0 difference in sound

Dont replace it, just get rid of it. It's presence entices the mice to live there.
