Billstein 5100s vs 4600s

    After just doing the LBJ this week on my 2000 Tundra, I'm now looking at doing the struts and potentially the springs as well. I do ride off road fairly often with it, specially for camping and hunting but I don't really rock crawl or anything like that. Just old mining roads is the extent of it with creek crossings and loose rock. I'm wondering which option would be better for my niche. I don't care too much for lifting or leveling but if it means better performance and longevity than it's something to consider.

    5100 is just a shiny 4600 with the ability to provide lift using your oem spring.

    The question also is, how many miles on your stock coils? The 4600 and 5100 are both designed to use the coil overs from your stock shocks. If yours have a lot of miles, you have to then find a source for a replacement coil.

    Other options, go with an Eibach assembled shock. From reports, they tend to be a little more forgiving on road (meaning more comfortable ride) but can handle getting off pavement.

    Just comes down to what you are wanting to spend and how long you want the shock to last (reusing and old coil verse buying something completely new).

    Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension, HD RAS, 285/75-18 Nokian Outpost AT, LoPro bed cover, TRD rear sway bar, DD 10 inch exhaust, and various other goodies
    Staying stock height, 4600. If you need/want a lift then I would suggest Eibach as well vs 5100s. They have fully assembled and threaded adjustable coilovers and matching rear shocks, good quality and price and nice upgrade over stock. Out of the box they are set at 2 inch lift in front, so levels the 2.5 gens.

    Yeah my shocks are original with just shy of 240 000kms so almost 150 000 miles. I notice the vehicle does tend to rebound quite a bit and I have been thinking it's much better to replace both the springs and the struts then to just slip in a billstein to the OEM ones

    But I'm wondering if it would be cheaper to get 5100s with another spring and get someone to assemble it at a shop. 2 inches is the maximum I want to lift as then I'd be looking at getting an upper control arm as well.
