Heard a noise coming from my truck. As soon as I started it there was a loud nonstop sound like a bad pulley. Coming from the front of the motor.
Researched for parts and got a idler pulley, tensioner and new serpentine belt.
Took it to my mechanic after I decided I did not want to work in that tight space.
Turns out I bent a hose putting on a cold air intake tube between the filter and the engine. That silly bent hose from the passenger side valve cover was the source of the noise. It caused a vacuum issue. As soon as my mechanic replaced the bent hose with a new hose the sound went away.
Lesson learned. My buddies are laughing about my mechanic skills. But figured I would post it for anyone that replaces their pulley and still has a squealing pulley sound.
