Well a Sonoran dog is completely different from a glizzy, it’s like a glizzy partied all night with the mariachi band

Someone paid me in silver certificates today. Weird. I checked, doesn't look like any of them have any reasonable value. A couple are in excellent condition. Guess I'll throw em in the coin collection. Thinking I'd rather have it in cash though:rofl:

Those silver certificates are from the 1930s. Bills normally don’t remain in circulation more than a few years.

They (or just one could be failing). However, before you spend the money replacing them, just swing by a tire shop and ask them to do a scan/relearn of the system real quick to see if it resets... The tundras, for example, have a small button under the dash to the right of the steering wheel that can be used to do a reset on the system manually if rotations, etc. are done at home. The tire shops generally use a small hand held scanner to do the deed.

They normally won't charge you to check the air and do a quick re-learn.

Solid TPMS is typically "tire low". Blinking TPMS is typically "comm failure" (i.e. not talking to one or more sensors).

Tire low (solid light) will pop if the tire pressure drops within x% below the set pressure (whatever it was set to remember during last reset). It may just be that the vehicle forgot or reset that baseline expected pressure?

Does your RAV4 have a TPMS reset/relearn button you can push/hold in some specific order to force a TPMS relearn? It's usually in the owner's manual if so. It's possible the car "forgot"

Alternately, on many Toyotas with either the HUD inside the gauge cluster, or the HUD/info menu inside the radio display will let you view tire pressure. If you have this, see if all 4 tires are reporting after driving a couple of miles. If not, you know the problem: TPMS battery probably died.

Do you have a code scanner? My OBDLink MX+ will hook into TPMS and tell me what it's bitching about. LAPS may be able to do the same for you? Could be worth checking.

I bought my Denso TPMS sensors off RA the 1st time, Summit the 2nd time.

I looked up the part number at www.densoautoparts.com but they had a couple, it appears they're sometimes different depending whether you have steel or alloy wheels.

It starts off blinking then goes solid. It's acted up in the past a few times but eventually went away.

No button on this one. I'll check manual.

Yes. I'll try that too. Car doesn't show tire pressure on dash. Doesn't have that much tech.

Lemme ask a little about A/C compressors. When I got the car the A/C would work, but make horrendous noises. SO I never ran it. They fixed the pulleys and tensioner and I tried it once. It squealed and blew cold, but I shut it off. I tried again on Saturday since I was gonna be on the highway. No dice. No cold air. No squeal. Tried again later with the same results. I'm thinking the A/C clutch went out, but it should be new as the compressor is new. I found a new clutch hub, coil, and shims on RA. Would that fix it or could it be something else?

Sounds like it to me. I’ve only seen one fail and it was because it was too low on coolant and not getting enough lubrication.

This is what happened on mine when one sensor went bad. I was able to bypass it by erasing the TPMS code with my OBDLink MX+.

You probably need new sensors. How many miles left on the tires? Technically all you need to do is pop the bead on one side of the tire, then swap in the new sensor, after cloning. If the sensor is dead, it should still have an ID# printed on it which can then be cloned onto the new sensor, you can buy the tool for cloning on scamazon for $80-100, any reputable tire shop should have it. If you're due for tires it obviously makes things easier to knock out at once and roll the work into a better pricing deal.

If you do go with all new sensors, one of two things must happen: (A) They need to clone the old sensor ID#s to the new ones you buy, or (B) they need to reprogram the TPMS ECU with the new sensor IDs. If you do happen to buy your own Denso sensors to carry in, do yourself a favor, and take a photo of the sensor ID info on the boxes before you head to the tire shop. Print out the pics and stick em in your maintenance records folder for Ravioli.
