First post here. Just put on OMEs 885, bilstein 5100s all around and icon AAL. Looks great. Next step is brute force fab front bumper. Now wondering if I should’ve gone with 887s. Am I’m gonna see some major sagging up front with the new bumper? Already have a little rake going on. Anybody have similar set up? What springs you running up front?

I have a mental image of the last AC I saw on here with 887s in an AC had the front so jacked up it was stupid. Really not meant for AC/RC.

I have no direct experience but highly doubt you'll see any significant sag.

Shifty thanks for the reply! Good to know. Getting bumper from powder coating place this week. I’ll post some pictures once it’s installed.

Congratulations on the basic bro lift. I’m rocking the same but my 5100’s and 885’s I’m on the second notch, but mine is a double cab and my 885’s have 105k on them.

I would say 887’s are somewhat equivalent to 885’s on the second notch. Same spring rate, and about the same preload.

While I know @Diablo169 is running 2885 in his DC on 2nd notch, for us AC guys, it seems to be different. I remember when he posted a thread asking annout running that 2nd notch setup, and I’d replied that I heard it was harsh ride, but it must be different for different cab types. I believe it was @Weagle with his AC that ran his 2885 at 2nd notch and said it was painful until he dropped back down. Another classic example of AC and DC trucks being wildly different with suspension/settings? Or maybe he was running 2883s, but even then, it seems like using lifted springs on anything other than bottom notch/circlip in the AC trucks is a recipe for problems. His ride was rough and he had bumpsteer problems I believe. Given you’re an AC too, I suspect you’ll see similar.

I liked the ride with 2883's and Bilstein 5100s set at the bottom notch on my DC

However, I needed about another 1/2 to 3/4" to have full clearance with my new tires and wheels so I bumped up to that 2nd notch and it was extremely harsh for me

I changed to Dobinson coils on the bottom notch of the 5100's to get the extra lift I needed and now I'm very satisfied with the ride again
