    Hello all!

Now that our 13 yr old son is almost as tall as his dad (6'2") I figured it was time to give him some leg room.

It was a few months of searching for the right Tundra, but one finally popped up in my notifications and I will be flying out to Seattle to pick up our new/used 2019 Limited CM w/56k!

Couldn't pass it up. A little apprehensive buying a vehicle and flying out to buy it, but I figure if I see something I don't like or it doesn't work out, I'm only out 12.6k airline miles. Ha!

A little bit about me. I am a merchant mariner working as an engineman for a crude oil tanker company based in Houston, Texas. Sailing ANSCO from Valdez, AK to west coast ports and Hawaii. Husband/father living in Montana.

I own a 2013 dblcb w/126k miles that I use as my adventure rig. Light Off-roading, camping, mt biking, paddlingboarding, trail-running and fly-fishing are the names of my game and I wish I was an influencer being able to just do that in life. Ha!

Hoping to be able to keep the Tacoma and pass it on to my son in 2 years as it still has a lot of life left.

Cheers and I look forward to being part of the group. Screenshot_20240806_085921_Carscom.jpg

Thank you! Nice Tundra! I see you're in Colorado and Arizona. I really enjoy being down in the Castle Rock area now and then. I would love to explore more out there.

Missoula. Moved here about 24 years ago and loved it. Things are changing rapidly and we may get taxed out for here.

I owned a 2007 dbclb years ago and loved it! Ehem...forced sell as the wife thought it was too "unsafe" for our son at the time. I may have cried when it went.

1st thing is installing a rack on the topper to get awning and fly rod holder going.

I miss my outfitted Tacoma. It took 11 years to get it tuned to my tastes and outdoor adventures. I'm ooking forward to getting this to my liking.

Top of the list after the topper rack is an ARB bumper, sliders and then...

    ARB dual compressor
    Rear end help for towing
    Minimal lighting
    Comms and storage.

    Welcome from the Central Coast!!!

Congrats on the new rig... It looks like it'll serve you well

When you say rear end help for towing, are you referring to a gear swap or something to help w/the squat when loaded??

I already own a WDH, so I think I might just add heavier springs and a good bump stop.

Even thinking of the active suspension as an option. I don't see myself having too much in the bed being a 5.5', but added outdoor gear.

The rear leafs on these rigs have always seemed kinda 'soft'. I'm currently running the RAS HD on my '21 Pro and have been really happy w/that set up (both loaded and unloaded)... I wish I had known about them when I was towing a lot w/my '08. The WDH definitely helped, but I think it would have been a perfect set up w/the RAS. I really didn't want to go heavier springs and end up w/a harsher ride when unloaded (which was about 80% of my driving time).

I'm sure you'll find a perfect combo for your setup. Don't forget to keep us posted!!

Oh, cool! I appreciate that. I really that that's the way to go. Still intrigued by the concept of that RAS. Haha

I will definitely keep you posted.
