Voltage fluctuation issue

So I have a 2013 4.6 and recently the battery light came on and off occasionally furthermore the battery voltage fluctuates between 13.0-13.4 at idle and when driving I've seen it spike to 15.6 could this be a faulty battery bad regulator or something else thanks for any input
