    Hey everyone

First off, thanks for a great forum and an excellent source of information on these rigs. I appreciate it.

My sixteen year old son has a 2001 Sequoia that we bought(as a project) in June of last year. Doing internet searches helped us fix many of the trucks issues, and a lot of the answers were found here on the forum.

So thanks again, and I am glad to be a part of this group.

    Roger

Welcome Roger. Love our old Sequoia. It was also purchased for my son that turns 16 in two months.

Thanks for the welcome. It had been parked for several years when we found it. The previous owner had put about 250,000 miles on it, and it needed some attention.

Here's what we've done since purchasing the Sequoia

Timing belt kit and water pump
    New radiator
    Oil and filter
    Brakes(f&r)
Purchased used set of Lexus wheels w/tires
Replaced rear latch and fixed rear defrost
    Replaced speaker foam surrounds
    Installed Kenwood deck w/Android auto
    New antenna
    New windshield (already cracked again)
    Removed factory running boards

    Here's a couple of photos.

The day we picked it up in June 2023, and then a year later on section 3 of the Washington BDR.

It's a been a fun project, and my son is learning a lot about car maintenance and repair. We've done all of the work on it(except the windshield replacement). Also, my kid is very proud of his truck.

Ditching the lady steps makes a huge difference on these!

There's a lot of good in your list. You should do lower ball joints with new OEM too.

Welcome to the forum. Check out the first gen tundra section, most the info from there should carry over.

Welcome from North Mississippi! Nice rig you got your son! My first vehicle was also a Toyota fast forward 19 years and several crappy vehicles later I’m back in a Toyota you just can’t kill them or beat their quality.
