    Hi all,

quick question - went down a rabbit hole as my battery finally spikes the sheets. Lots of threads on the x2 Agm and their charging voltage was ready to do the diode, but then stumbled upon the fact my truck has the 180a alternator. The specs state this output is 14.8V which should be plug and play (no diode or mods required) for the Agm. This seems to be confirmed by the fact my truck voltage sits at about 15V on the instrument panel when running and this information on the part (see pic).

can anyone confirm my line of thinking that no diode or mod is needed due to the trailer package alternator?

You will need a decent volt meter to see true battery charge voltage.

That was the plan, would need to jump at this time to do that experiment. Was hoping to confirm with others.

Do have the alternator in the picture you posted or the original? What year is your truck?

Just to close this out, mine absolutely charges at 13.8v.

not enough for the agm. Went interstate from Costco. Didn’t have time to mess with diode, etc.
