I'm in rusty Upstate NY, just picked up a 12 double cab 4WD w.6.5 box.

I had been driving a spotless RWD 95 GMC 3/4 ton for the past two years, not in winter, that a large doe found irresistible last Monday morning and took out the front end. Not a spec of rust anywhere...kind of a shame but it was a beast to drive, so I had been thinking of a Tundra the past few months.

I have a long history with Toyota trucks. My two priors were both RWD T-100's, a 95 that rusted away finally in 2022 after 18 years of service and a short lived 93 without a spec of rust and 50k but I flipped out of it as soon as I realized it had no airbag. 65 years old...you kids will understand some day.

Tailgate bottom is rusted away and some bubbling on rear wheel wells but the body is in pretty great shape for age and mileage, 140,000. Spare tire chain is hanging down, spare in trunk. Get some PB on that today. Frame has typical Central NY rust but overall pretty solid.

    Nice matching ARE cap too.

After driving single cabs strippers with no real interior design for so long I'm amazed by all the storage and little cubbies inside....storage in the door arm rests???!! Who thought of that?

Anyways, glad to see such an active forum, I drive a Jaguar XK8 as well and that forum is invaluable.

Look forward to chirping in occasionally!
