I have a 2011 Tundra with the 5.7Ltr engine with 210,000 miles on the odometer. I got the truck from the original owner, my son-in-law last year. I have been monitoring the oil consumption rate and with 4,000 miles on this oil change, I am down about half a quart. I am thinking that is pretty good, but I would like to hear your experiences. I got the truck when it had 196,000 miles and have been changing every 5,000 miles with synthetic. My son-in-law used it to tow a bass boat, but I do not tow anything, so it has a pretty easy life. Please share your experiences.

That’s not bad. I’m at 215K using Mobil 1 5W-30 and burn almost nothing

102k and 117k on my 5.7s, neither burn any.
247k on my 4.7 and it takes about a half quart every 3,000 miles.

300k+ and don't burn anything. I wouldn't sweat a half quart over an oil change length though.

I have 265k on my 4.7L burns no oil, I wouldn’t worry about losing 1/2 quart between oil changes

Thanks guys! Your responses are both appreciated and pretty impressive! I was feeling pretty good about just half a quart, but your responses solidify my impressions. Thanks again.

I lose about a quart every 5k miles. I do a lot of short city driving which i suspect has something to do with it. However also both valve covers have a slight leak, thats probably where i lose the most while driving

    2010 129k miles

Could I make a simple suggestion? The pcv valve will start burning oil when it begins to fail.:)

'13 Crewmax, 220K, doesn't burn any oil at all with yearly oil changes ranging from 10K-25K/year. I've never had to add a drop between changes.

You can just change it out it’s a cheap part($10) that is easy to access. I change mine every 50k miles, the valve gets gummy from oily blow by gases. To check the valve you have to remove from valve cover you might as well put a new one back in
