I just got a 18 TRD and would love to put a 2.5 lift on it. Tried the search but couldn't find what I am looking for. I drive 90% of the time without a load but 10% I put a 1000 lb pallet back there. So I would like a lift but also need it to handle the extra weight. What should i go for. Not really worried about the cost since my truck makes my living. Springs? Air bags? Brands? Thanks for any help.

I went 6112/5160 Bilstein combo with a Coachbuilder extended shackle on the back. I’ve been perfectly happy with it for 65k miles and work it pretty hard.

If you put beefier springs on it will kill your unladen ride comfort.

I would agree. You'll still have some squat when you toss that pallet on, but it'll combat most of it, and not punish you the other 90% of the time that you drive like the other options will.

The RAS would probably be perfect. It will give you that nice inch of lift when empty then assist with the squat when loaded

Is Ras the air system? And what would I do for the overall lift? Two and a half inches?

No... they have 2 kits for the Tundra, standard and HD; you'll want the HD kit. You'll still need something for the front if you're looking to raise the entire truck. Probably bilstein 6100 series, but I'd suggest reaching out to @memario1214 as previously mentioned and he'll be able to advise on a nice balanced set up for your rig and application...

Regarding 2.5" in the rear w/RAS... I'm not quite sure you'll be at that height, but each of our trucks are a bit different. I believe most guys are saying at the heaviest setting on the RAS they are seeing 1.75 to 2.25 iirc; which means if you come up about 2-2.5 inches in the front, you should be pretty level

I do exactly what you are talking about. I’m a general contractor. I will put 1000lbs of tile in the truck at times to take to a job site. And usually the rest of the time I’m unloaded.

I did the ebiach stage 2r with ras hd in the rear. It’s perfect and slightly drops when loaded down but nothing like when I did not have the ras.

I did it in 2 stages. Put the ras hd on to see what it did. Raised the back about 3/4 inch but drastically reduced body roll, porpoising, and sag when loaded.

installed the stage 2r a week or so ago and it just made it even better. I left the fronts at 2 inches and it looks great and rides wonderfully. I enjoy it more and more every day.

a friend out the bags on his and he likes them but he has to air them up and let it out. The ras is set it and forget it.

I set my ras with the white pick but if you need more you can yous the black pick. I like being able to adjust both front and rear if I want to decently easy.

    just a few thoughts.

I also have a topper on the bed.

Since you want a lift look into Old Man Emu. They offer light, medium and heavy versions of front and rear springs based on what you do with the truck. Expect 2.5 to 2.75 of lift.

Ive run their stuff on 4runners and other suvs, and was always pleased- very beefy and good quality at good price. Still running their light setup on a 4th gen 4runner, 100k miles on that suspension and it rides like new.

Lol, I'm a tile guy too. I have the four fold hard tonneau cover and with it folded completely up can slide one pallet of tile or thinset into the back of my truck.
I ordered the heavy duty RAS system yesterday and then from a place in Missoula Montana ordered a set of Bilstein 6112s set at 1.9 in. The RAS will probably come in way before the bilsteins so I will do like you did put the RAS on first. Thanks for the advice.

There's not too many places to buy truck suspensions in Missoula, MT here so if it was supposed to be us here at Hotshot Offroad I think that you may have forgotten to push submit (or we had a system error)! We didn't have any Tundy orders come through yesterday for assembled Bilsteins. I just want to make sure you get taken care of! Please give me a call at 406-936-0206 and I'll be happy to help you out.
