Transmission cooler kit for ‘21

Hey guys, I’m about to do a SC install on my 21 crewmax and I want to pair the install with placement of a trans cooler. I have no idea what to get and am hoping to get a complete kit I can give to the dealership. I’ve seen the genuine cooling systems one but it’s out of stock and $1200. Any other options yall recommend?

Yes they’re awesome have the Genuine cooling system Setrab 20 row kit on mine. Was running about 215 220 degrees normal driving before install. With kit about 185 to 190 degrees

 

Just got mine delivered this week. If you go on their site and click to be notified, they will contact you with a pre- order. Took about two weeks after I signed up. Going to install it next weekend.

 

Back when I installed mine, @Genuine Cooling Systems was not offering full kits, so I bought a partial kit from him and sourced my own OEM parts. Here's my Ourisman Toyota (then it was McGeorge Toyota) order receipt from late 2020. Hopefully these parts haven't gone up in price too much.


Aside from that list above, all you need is hoses, a radiator, and a way to mount it to your truck up front.

 

Accurate list for sure - I just installed the very same items on a '15 Sequandra - used a haydon 699 thermostat cooler (opens 185) and achieved 35 degrees cooler under the worst of conditions (constant SG). Prices were very similar. Taking the puck out of the loop might lower them more but I figured that was enough.

The GCS is nice but it's $1300....

I'm in the process of putting together a kit for myself. Just deciding on the bracket I want to use

 

Cooling is most effective when cooler is mounted right up against the condenser - especially for the tough situations like constant SG.

Howdy Folks.....I'm looking to do a T Cooler on my '21....how many have just run the rubber transmission hose from the Tstat right up to the cooler?? I've seen it done in one youtube video, just wondering how common that is.....it would save me about $300 here in communist Canada.

Probably yet if I were trying that I'd either find a steel braided hosed and-or encase the one hose inside another for Extra protection from the "rubs" that will come. Luck.

 

Secure it from rubbing on itself and the truck and you'll be fine for many years.

Should be just fine. Just check it every few oil changes for rubbing

I have to agree the GCS kits are great and everything is included. Took an afternoon with the help of a friend to install.

 

Update Just received the shipping notice...

 

Just an update, cooler installed and have not seen temps over 190 since. With thermostat pinned, barely hits 160

 

Nice! - if you ever need to tow at full capacity going 75 uphill in OverDrive then add a fan !!!
