Wife has a Forester. She increasingly is grabbing the Tundra keys (Gen 3 drives that much more smoothly than our Gen 2 did). I am increasingly driving a Forester.

Got a neighbor. HE drives a Prius with a "Dragons don't believe in you either" license plate frame.

Love driving my wife’s new Crosstrek Limited with the 2.5L.
Handles the twisties almost as well as my ‘78 911!
But, then again I do fit into the old guy demographic…
    No bumper stickers, ever…
    Guess I’m a Lezbro too. :)

To be fair, the ridgeline is enough “truck” for the majority of us on here.

I had fun driving my wife’s Outback Wilderness. It was better in the snow than the Tundra, and that 2.4 turbo was pretty quick.

That’s a solid list. I’d add Volvo station wagons.

It's nothing on Earth like sitting inside an old Volvo (wagon, of course) and revving its 5 cylinder engine to the red line. The hotter it goes, the better its growling sound is. 3UR, for example, screams pitiful "weeeeeee" above 2k RPMS to my ear. I want to spit and sit back in my old Volvo wagon.

Around 3:20 it passes a Mustang, because, hey, Mustang handles like shit compared to old lady's Volvo wagon!

I never would've thought you to be a lesbian. Good thing we're tolerant around here.:D

I've driven my fair share of beaters, econoboxes, and other vehicles of questionable taste, but I draw the line at anything pink. I could probably learn to accept but not love a Prius, as long as it wasn't the "only" vehicle.
I've ridden in a few tastefully done, wicked quick, "sleeper" Subies, so I could swing that direction I suppose. No Save The Whales stickers though. Saving a tree is fine as long as there's eating beavers involved.

You may have to de-list the Volvo wagon....

    Lots of stuff!
Not too sure why all the dislike towards the Ridgeline? It checked lots of boxes like:
    - No wind whistles
    - No mirror cameras falling off
    - No brake squeal
    - No engine failure
    - No turbo failure
    - Super comfortable smooth ride.
    - Great fuel economy
    - Older proven tech
    The list can go on.

It did fit most of our needs as a "truck". I mean I couldn't see my Tundra doing much better offroad other than dirt roads and maybe sandy beaches. I am coming from a very tall Samurai that I used to crawl up river beds. I could see the Tundra towing the Samurai to the trail heads ;)

Anyway this was our first tow vehicle before we got the Ridgeline. Here you go, take some shots at this one :)

Not the pink one, that is just for fun!

It's a mentality difference America vs Europe. If you can fall off the cliff and die, in America you get a fence and a bunch of warning signs, sometimes even employees overlooking the situation. In Europe if you fell off the cliff and died - you were an idiot without common sense for safety, you deserved it. I'm 100% European in that respect.

Agree on the Ridgeline - solid little truck with a great AWD system.

    Was your Beetle a TDI?

    Lots of stuff!
It is a TDI (Sold it to a buddy and he is running around with it now). Did some stuff to it to get the torque up to 315 ft-lbs and HP up to 160. Basically double what it started with. That thing would fly with the trailer and still get 50 mpg's. Going up our 10% grades passing everyone with the trailer attached was fun. Coming down these same grades was a breeze with the massive brakes we added.

We went away from it to get more space with the Airstream.

    Absolutely.
I looked at the Ridgeline and loved it except for the interior room. I'm 6'-5" and tip the scales right at 250 and now that I'm retired I refuse to fold myself up to get into my truck.

If you go in understanding it’s less truck and more chopped Odyssey minivan, it’s not half bad.

Does it share the Odyssey transmission? I know a handful of families who had to have their Odyssey’s transmission replaced around 80-100k miles.

If only Americans would have been introduced to small TD motors like the TDI before the insanity of CARB and EPA nonsense. I had a 2000 and 2009 TDI Jett for work when I used to drive a lot. I’d usually drop off my trailers and maybe one truck on a job and then use the TDI to commute. As you said, 50+ MPG all day on the highway and 700 miles per tank if I was careful with the accelerator. I used to love the TDI swaps too. Glad your TDI is still running around!

I think the Ridgeline and Pilot share the same engine and drive train. Made in Alabama. Front wheel drive with a the rear kicking in if the software tells it to.
