But not a "New Tundra" owner. Was really interested right up until they announced it. Then I figured that I'd give it time. Turns out the wait and see method works well, because. I've been seeing, and I'm going to keep on waiting.

I understand you bought yours before the recall and I'm not saying you or anyone else should dump it because of the recall. But be honest with yourself, would you have bought it after the recall? That takes a special kind of fiscal irresponsibility in my opinion.

    Devils advocate.....
No one checks out any truck forums? Maybe have zero clue of recent events? Shady dealers not mentioning anything to make the sale? Don't all dealers suck?

As punishment, I’ve stopped modding my truck. Too bad it be just damn near bought almost everything for it.

I’d take a big lose trading it in. Still contemplating taking the lose. It’s only money. But then again I love the power and how it drives…. I’m not even on the recall list with a build date of 2/23. Oh well….

not sure man, honestly , I’m not in that spot .

Depends on some factors , what I had at the moment , how bad I needed a truck , etc

bottom line , if it was right this second and I need a truck I would wait two months and get a 2025 tundra, I still trust Toyota more and at least it would likely make it past the test drive unlike the ford I tested

these gen 3 trucks are really nice and tow, haul, and ride awesome

I did wait until the turbo bs blew over and also the first year model when I was coming out of my 2016 crewmax , monitored closely at the time and by spring 2023 that was over and I pulled the trigger

Don't trade it. Vast majority are running fine. Easy for me to say, but if I owned one, I'd let things play out. Use it!

And Ram 1500 sales went from like 500,000 trucks a year a few years ago to like 2,000 trucks last year.

True statement, plus you can probably get more money off now vs. last year (9mo ago for me) although still not much off on Pro's I hear.

2024 Tundra sales have been pretty impressive so far. But 2007 is still the king.

Didn’t Ford recall like 550K trucks because the transmission randomly goes into first from any gear? You would rather have that?

I had a 2nd gen roll out 07. At 12 years old, had to replace a faulty power steering pressure sensor for less than $20. Times are changing it seems.

ya when you go from a 7/8 size truck with a v6 sized v8 to a real full size with a 350, it crushed it.

I still remember the tow test vs the ford 5.4 at the time, fuckin destroyed it

Frontier's are selling hot. A new mid cycle refresh is coming out with the 25 in a few weeks. I already told my dealer to let me know when they get one in. Afterburner Orange sounds good to me. Frontier's will never out sell the Taco. Doesn't mean the Taco is better. :duel:

Totally agree. Frontier seems to be a strong reliability pick when you look at the 9 speed auto and the V6. The only other option is the Honda Ridgeline.

All the "ladybits" are standard now on all trims but the S. 12.3" display too. Front grill looked great already, but was spiffed up even more. Nissan listened to what the existing owners wanted. Curiosity awaits on pricing....

I had a 2007 and it was awesome. There was nothing on the market that could come close to the performance of that truck! It did have to get a new dashboard (wavy plastic), new tailgate (Split open), and the AIP replaced in 3 years. I really liked that truck.

Ridgeline is nice but never have seen one in the mountains wheeling here in 20 years. Never. I do see a lot of them in town. A lot. Ridgeline has a great niche for certain buyers not offroading. Ridgeline's are certainly well equipped with what most folks want at its price point. Well made ride.

Yeah. Back then you got a 5.4L and 4 speed auto....or a 6.0 v8 in the GM. The 2007 model GM truck with the Vortec Max was a strong running truck...and would make it all of the way to the next gas station.

The competition is a lot steeper today for sure.

I bought a GM truck. Mine came with a discount code for Nike walking shoes...and I did buy the extended warranty....something I didn't do with the Tundra.

Yea, actually. The number of affected vehicles in that recall are less than 1%.
