I searched and couldn't quite find an issue exactly like this particular one.i installed a "start x" remote starter. Was generally an easy install.

Once installed I pushed the lock on my fob 3 times and the vehicle began to attempt to start. Turned over weakly as if my battery was weak, too weak to actually start and then stopped trying. I spent a few minutes checking the wiring was engaged properly in every spot. No issues but it wouldn't start.

I figured I got a bad remote starter. Pulled everything out and tried to start my truck. Again seemed like a bad battery. And my dashboard lights all go out. Then after 30 seconds the dashboard lights up again. But if I attempt to start it, it all goes dead again.

I attempted to boost it with my work van. Starts with zero problem. And drove it around for 20-30 mins. Got home and shut it off. And same symptoms. Feels like a weird coincidence that my battery is magically bad the day I install a stupid remote starter. I'll check the battery tomorrow when I bring my multimeter home tomorrow.

But has anyone experienced this? Is there something dumb I'm not thinking of?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    UPDATE:

Replacing the battery seems to have solved it. Maybe the battery was on its last leg and I just didn't know. Or maybe the remote start system did some thing to kill a cell or two in the battery. But hopefully it's solved. I'll start it the next few days and see if it's holding a charge or if the remote system created a parasitic draw somehow.

Sorry I have no valuable input but I would start with calling their tech support. They will likely know what could give those symptoms.
