Before I pull the trigger

I'm being told by a dealership that the TRD Off-road package automatically changes the grill mustache to chrome. I don't want the chrome but it seems like maybe I don't have a choice. Any input? Looking for a Lunar Rock TRD sr5 TRD OR. Thank you!

 

I had an OR 2022 in Lunar Rock and it had the chrome mustache. Wasn't a big deal. Traded it for a 24 Platinum.

 

Well maybe it wasn't a big deal to you but I strongly dislike chrome and I don't want it on my truck . In the lunar rock owners thread most don't have it.

 

Yes, the SR5 will have a chrome stache with TRD OR pack. If you wanted to move to a limited, it has it color matched with TRD OR pack. This is probably why you see many other owners without the chrome.

 

Thank you. Not sure why this is a thing. Maybe I'll look at aftermarket options.

Pretty sure SR5 TRD Sport also.
SR5 TRD O/R will be chrome. Dumb, but there it is.
Aftermarket does have you covered a couple different ways though.

 

Ended up with a Limited TRD OR. No chrome. I'm in love!

 

I just found out the hard way the SR5 TRD-OR comes chrome even thought my window sticker said color matched grill surround, the TRD package over road that. So dumb.

 

I noticed this when I was looking online it's quite confusing. Thankfully this thread sorted me out.
