    I fall under the new engine recall. Time is coming up in needing tranny service(drain&fill)
    When you replace an engine does the transmission lose fluid so you have to fill it backup?

    Might not do a drain&fill if thats the case

    Oh i thought the torque converter was attached to the engine and that would be exposed with the engine getting yanked

    The torque converter is bolted to the flex plate, but you won't lose any fluid there. I think you might lose some fluid depending on the amount of hard lines the Techs remove to assist in removing the engine, and the way they do it, body off or not.

    I agree to totally separate units , but maybe they would give you a discount since you have to do without your truck and it is recall . I would ask for free or discounted trans service
