Spicy day on the FB group. Ryan’s certainly done a 180 on his confidence in the V35 at this point.

said his two 3UR engines are more reliable and will be used for long trips - doesn’t trust any V35.

Thanks for the update. I don't do FB, but I do have a profile I use just for Marketplace. Tried joining the group and got denied, lol.

Any chance of getting a look at the pictures? I don't have a FB account but would love to hear about Ryan's failure and his short block investigation.

If Gen2 guys can't get their panties tight enough about something they don't own on Tundras.com they can go to Reddit and Facebook to be even more outraged. :)

Im just hanging out waiting for the problem to be fixed… at this point maybe we can trust the 2026s? Then if the price is right I’ll swoop in and grab a deal. I personally have zero interest in dropping $70K+ on a truck only to have a good chance of having the cab taken off the frame and every mount, clamp, connector, etc etc etc disconnected and reconnected by a tech getting paid 10 hours less than the job would take to do right. I feel for you 3rd gen guys. Toyota owes you more than just a new long block IMO…. Diminished value, rental TRUCK, buy back option, etc. But don’t blame us because Toyota is shafting you. We are on your side.

Driving a gen 2 Tundra is like being the Maytag repairman. It's just pretty quiet.

I'm sorry if we have to live vicariously through you gen 3 guys for some excitement!

I’ve repaired my LG 3x in 13 years. Replaced the heating element twice and some little solenoid once.

    That’s not too bad really.

Blower fan shat the bed. $26 on Amazon. Hope it holds.

I had one of those not even a year out of warranty (I think they have 5 year warranties, you might look) and the motherboard fried. A new motherboard was about $50 less than a brand new dryer.

I noticed in the recall that this is in the U.S. I know of 2 failure in the small city where I live so I was wondering if anyone has heard of any news on this solution being proposed for Canadian owners?

I got the letter from Toyota stating they'll replace my engine. I'm in no hurry though, my engine is running beautifully and I'm not exactly excited to have such an invasive job done on my truck. I'll be chatting to my service dept in a couple weeks when I do my next oil change.

Yeah my Platinum was built in January 23 but not included. I've contacted Toyota and asked them how can mine not be included and got canned answer about VIN is more specific. Not trusting this...

I have an early ‘24, bought in December of 23. I was driving to Idaho last week and was doing 90 for a solid period of time an experienced the sudden loss of power. Very scary when on a dual single lane highway and passing big rigs. Taking it in today to see what is up.

my feeling is if they had ‘24 s with issues, they would not say, because they would have a hard time selling other 24’s!
