Trying to remove the old ones with 97K to install new take off oem spring /shock combos in the front. Already replaced rear shocks with Bilstiens 5100. My Haynes manual is not helping on this one. Done for tonight. Need to take a sick day Wednesday to get it done. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. D

TC long travel. Deaver 420 SU leaf packs.
There's a bolt on lower control arm (goes through the shock) that can only be loosened from the backside. You'll probably need a ball joint press to pop the ball joint on the upper control arm. Sometimes a long lever is required to get the suspension to droop enough to remove/ install the coilover assembly. I used a 2x4.

    Some stuff
If you have a small ball peen hammer, a couple of whacks on the upper arm, near the joint, will be enough to pop it loose. Do not take the castle nut all the way off though. Just loosen it. Wait until you pop the joint loose, then remove the nut.

Undo the sway bar bolt on the lower arm and you should get enough play to remove/install coil over.

Google and You Tube are your friends here. Google the Fabtech instructions. They are pretty simplistic but worked for me. Like Slavin said remove lower bolt on sway bar if you have one. Fabtech assumes no sway bar.

Thanks for all the help. Got really late last night trying to do anything. Had to take a sick day to get my truck back on the road. New take off oem coilovers done now thanks to all your help. PITA compared to most DIY projects I have done. New front oem rotors installed too. Pads still had 50% left. Original rotors lasted 90K before they were turned . So I went with what works. Holding off on any lift til I get back to work after knee replacement surgery. Peace. D
