The v6's are bloated tacos. The v8's are super tacos.

how long do regular people keep vehicles? I've had my (2nd) rebound car for 20 years. And if theres a nationwide emp i could get that carb to run. Dad got a 20 year old infiniti about 3 years ago, right after i got the tundra. It took me 5 years to wreck the buell, and i was tryin.

I am in the market for a second 2/2.5 gen
Not sure if I answered the poll correctly

2 or 2.5 is the truck for my needs
    Thirsty but Worthy

    I barely understand this thread

I don't even use the lady bits on my 2.5, I just ended up with them because somebody else custom ordered the truck and backed out. I only wanted a 38 gallon tank and 4x4 long bed.

    Nailed it.

Takes me back to the days of GTA2 and the Big Bug. It was just a Beetle with a wide body kit. Wasn't there a Super Beetle in real life too?

    Depends on the vehicle...

My First Gen I only had for a couple of years as it was there to help me 'transition' from a vehicle to a truck

My 2nd Gen I've had now for 16 years...

My 2.5 Gen I've had now for almost 3...

Prior to that the most I got out of a vehicle was 150k (about 6-8 years), but most were traded or sold before 100k (so about 4 years)...

But he hasnt had it long. He's had the titan for 20 years and probably put 2/3 of the miles on. And most of that was with a weak fuel pump & it was powerful until 2500 rpm. Super easy to drive efficient down there. Was 22-24 mpg back then, but once it got fun it averages closer to 17.

i fixed it for him while he was on a cruise, and it happened to be a week of sprinkling in pasadena, i had to run from the cops twice in one night, because the iat was insulated in the a/c duct. And the truck would walk. You can get pretty rowdy with the trans in manual mode.

    So here's the break-down:
    1stgen/best gen: 00-06
    2nd gen: 07-13
    2.5 gen:14-21
    3rd gen:22-present.

Were debating if 14-21 is turd gen or if 22-present = turd gen.

If it does the rhyme, it does the time.
    Third...turd.

That's too perfect, without even considering the facts that support the rhyme.

They haven't earned a title though. 2.5s have been around long enough that they've earned the turd title. 3rd gens are garbage in all of our eyes but haven't earned a title yet. The way I see it is it's a privilege to have a title. 3rd gens haven't earned a title yet.

    No idea

    I like the Trucks before '22 with a 5.7
    Also wouldn't mind a 4.7 V8 Gen 2 or 1

Turd means poopy so right now I give that to the '22"+ versions due to more than normal recalls(as far as Toyota standards)...That truck probably isn't poopy if the engine is solid

I do like my '21, basic but solid

No. Turd Gen was a badge of honor bestowed upon the 2.5 Gens who ventured into the lands of 1st gen, took the punches, and still came back to tell them about our 5.7s. We were "turds" if you will.

Back in the day we had what history is calling "The Greatest Generation". It was the generation who made it through the Great Depression then kicked butt in WWII. They were the ones who got it done and made America an amazing place to be through hard work, determination and good values.
Looking at the people you would not say that they were the best. In many ways they were old fashioned and some would say inefficient. But they were reliable, hard working and determined.
In many ways the Gen 2/2.5 are similar. They may not be the best in a side by side comparison. But they ALWAY get it done and almost never fail.
So, all that to say.... The Gen 2/2.5 are the Greatest Generation :)
    I might be biased.

I am challenging your opinion :)
IMO the 2.5 is the third gen. The new one is the 4th.
In Toyotaland if you only count totally new as a generation, there are not many generations.....

I don’t even recognize 2.5 as an actual generation different from 2. It’s the same truck underneath. :notsure:

There are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen Tundras. I get why aftermarket companies differentiate 2 and 2.5 as the minor exterior styling updates can make bumpers and headlights/taillights fit differently.

But just because my truck has slightly different exterior styling, fewer engine options, and less interior storage than the earlier 2nd gens doesn’t make it a new generation.

3rd is clearly turd gen. You can't even buy one with a significant chance the engine will self-immolate. Still not sure what Toyota was thinking, but definitely qualifies as a "TURD" in my book.
