2.5 gen or turd gen poll

OK. This is it. The poll to define the name of the 2.5 gen.

We've all(1st gen) had multiple discussions to define the name of the 2.5 gens. Back in the days before the 3rd gen, the 2.5 was the turd gen. It's a fun name. It rhymes. Does it fit? Nah, probably not given what the new 3rd gens have shown. But, it's always been the turd gen. Anyone who's visited 1st gen paradise has heard it and (I think) enjoys it. The new 3rd gen hasn't earned the moniker. 2.5s have been around since '14 and have earned it. Yeah the 3rd gens are under a recall, but aren't we all? So let's take a tally:

Pros:
Always been called turd gens
Earned the moniker through time
Most 2.5 gens are cool with it

Cons:
3rd gens are actual turds
3rd gen owners are sensitive and will get whoever says turd gen against them banned.

So. What say ye tundra crowd?


This thread is meant as satire. It's a longstanding joke between some of the 3+ year members of the 2.5 and 1st gens. Nothing in this thread should be taken seriously. New members and 3rd gen owners read this paragraph again.

 

Both. But officially the 3rd gen. 2.5 is still second gen, they just have a bodykit and some ladybits.

 

2.5 isn't special, it deserves no special name apart from whatever we deem the 2nd gens as a whole.

 

Dc's & sequoias are 1.5 gen & the plastic bumper trucks are to be called 'alabama specials' because the american engine started in '03.

 

Is the new Land Cruiser a Land Cruiser? Is the new Tundra a Tundra? Makes sense that the Tundras from 2014-2021 are the Turd Gen and that makes 2022+ Tundras officially Grand Tacos.

Us 2.5'ers have a huge bulge.... on the hood. And some of us choose to put a 40" light bar in it. Something that no other Gens get to do.

We can go with that. I was just thinking because if you've driven a first gen taco and then a first gen tundra, the tundra feels like a roided up taco.

Definately a fat taco. Its a taco with double meat. Since taco's didnt get v8's. The vvti stuff might be double meat double cheese, but 240hp is perfect.

 

they didnt buy a best gen, their sense of judgement is questionable at best.

If we call them GTs, the 3rd genners will think it's a cool name and maybe not get offended.

However, I think the only true safe way of doing this is by requiring everyone to list their preferred truck pronouns...

I mean I've seen this in many other places and it seems to work w/o triggering folks

yes but apparently a 2.5ers M.O. is to meander through, frequent, and comment within others gens threads... So, my vote is it's highly appropriate for 1st gen dudes to get in on the discussion; plus, as OGs, we respect your wisdom and cherish your inclusiveness
