Uniden Hybrid CB/scanner

Has anyone seen this? I'm guessing that it would still be illegal for states where mobile scanning (without a proper license) is illegal.

A lot of police departments switched to digital/scrambled transmissions so not sure how much you would hear. Police departments also send most of the calls/transmissions through the computer.

 

Some fire agencies still use VHF and you can listen via a cheap Baofeng. You can find frequencies via https://www.radioreference.com/db/.

 

One of our neighboring towns still uses VHF for its ambulance service. I pick them up on the Baofeng all the time.

 

For that price you should think about an "Expanded CB"....

Just like in New England , here in Florida "honey attracts more than vinegar".... Asking for help may surprise you when a LEO steps onto the

Channel being helpful instead of antagonizing... Makes their lives' easier also..

And with an "Expanded radio" , private conversations usually go uninterrupted...

Then again , if Pockets are deep $$$$$ 2-meter opens up a WHOLE new World..


This 'Lil Gem has bounced around in my "Offices" for a "Few Miles" and has never failed me yet..


Other "Note", Uniden's 40 Channels sell for $80-95 on the net at quality CB

Shops... is a scanner really worth an extra $300..
