Using a foam applicator is the way to go with tire shine. Just make sure the tire shine you are using doesn't have any petroleum products or by-products in it, you will get what we are talking about. You get what you pay for in automotive cleaning products.

    Hi there,

I’m having the same problem with my car after sending for car wash. Can I just check what’s the current status of the stain? Is it still there? Or literally fades and non existent?

Appreciate your reply. I’m so affected as I just got my car :(

I’d take the truck back to whoever did the work.

    It's 2024.
I'm new to the car world. I'm Autistic and I do my best to understand. I used Chemical Guys VPR on my tires. Little did I know that you shouldn't use this in humidity or wet climates. So 3 days after applying and drying, it rained. Tire Sling got all over my pure white Dodge Challenger.
I broke down in tears. Contacted the company and they told me I should have known better given VPRs base. NO WHERE ON VPRS BOTTLES OR WARNINGS DOES IT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT RAINY CLIMATES OR WET HUMIDITY!!!!!! They offered no help. I'm not rich. I survive on SSD because of permanent disabilities. And that's not surviving. I can't afford new paint.

    I've tried cutting compounds.
    Clay bar
Degreasers reccomended by a multitude of people
    Alcohol 70%

NOTHING HAS WORKED. ITS ALL OVER MY WHEEL WELLS, SIDES, DOORS, REAR. PLASTIC AND METAL!!!!

I'm so desperate to get these orange marks off its not even funny. It's become one with my paint.

Did you ever find a true solution????

I avoid using tire dressings.....especially during the heat and humidity of the summer. Degreasers and a clay bar are only going to take care of whats on the surface, Based on what you are describing, it sounds as though a component of the dressing has stained the clear coat on your vehicle. If you have already used compound, then you're already removed as much clearcoat as you should. Without seeing the car in person, it's a hard call to make. I'd try a light polish on those areas, but be careful not to burn through the clear coat.

I think you are in a situation where you can only lessen them as much as possible and live with it. For what its worth, I have a disabled daughter who is in a similar situation. If you were nearby....I'd try and help you in person.

P.S. There's a slim chance the orange spots you are describing could also be iron contamination.....try using a product like Iron-X and see if that helps. The spots will turn purple if its iron
