I'd keep it. I don't mind having a cracked windshield. If I get a new one and a rock hits hits it, I think "Oh no! I hope it didn't chip!" But if there's already a crack in it and a rock hits it, I think "Meh. Whatever".

That’d be the smart move, but I’ve got a 3 day 100 mile backwoods trip coming up…worry about it getting a lot worse on rough roads

That would not worry me at all. And I drive on rough roads all the time, with a cracked windshield.

What I would worry about is getting a quality windshield for $420. Although since you don't have all the TSS on later models, maybe they aren't as expensive.

My thought after several windshields on my previous Gen 1, is if it isn't in my field of view, IDGAF.

I wouldn’t worry about it that crack won’t get any bigger

If you get it replaced, make sure to go with either Pilkington or PPG. There are a lot of crap glass from China that are so bad, it’s like looking through a funhouse mirror

Reason I asked was on some vehicles, Honda Element for example, having a sunroof increased the chances of having a broken windshield. Modern windshields are glued in place and become an integral part of the structural rigidity of the body. The sunroof opening allows more body flexibility which can crack the windshield.
