Why were all the “influencers” so quiet about engine failures for so long?

The only YouTube influencer I watched who went quiet was this crazy Florida Man who used to drive Euros. He would shoot fully automatic weapons out of his ‘22 Tundra and incessantly mock pavement princesses.

    It's like politics...

You don't want to offend anyone with your YouTube videos.

The goal is to have MORE views, MORE happy subscribers, MORE happy Toyota Corp connections and make MORE money!

When I was in the market for a truck back in 2019, I didn't even think of You Tube or any influencers as a resource for truck buying. I had a GMC that was on its 3rd trans so I was not getting a GM. Ford was out because they did me wrong in the past. It was between the new RAM 1500 and the Toyota Tundra. I googled both truck models for complaints. I found that the new Ram at the time had a ton of complaints. The Tundra on the same site had 2 and they were inconsequential. Since I was looking for reliability, I got a Tundra. I have been very happy with my decision.

Perhaps because there were not many verifiable facts available until 29 May 2024.

So long as Im covered under warranty if this issue ever arises; I’ll be satisfied.

wouldn't be ideal but I have a backup vehicle that is fun to drive.

I can’t even watch trdjon or last line of defense dude it’s just…cringe. Mark brenner and westscott designs are on the cringe list too. As bro-ey as Mark is he has good points sometimes.

tinker Toyota legit tho I get influenced by him because he’s educating you about both sides of an argument and it’s just entertaining…

Exactly ,it’s like a cashier “ hey sign up for this credit card “

the cashier signs two people in a week.

next week the corporation tells said cashier to sign 4 more customers up or they will label employe as not preforming

There were really only a few problems that came up. yes... a few engine failures...yes...a few waste gate issues..and yes, it was discussed. But there's a 106,000 METRIC TONS of difference between those issues, and having to replace the engine in over 106,000 trucks. When the people at Ford, Nissan, and GMC tell you "I don't even want that truck on my lot. I won't give you a penny." That's a load of difference.

Mostly because they can't say anything bad about Toyota. If they do, they don't get invited to press events. No press events=no viewers/subscribers.

Think about all of them with the name TRD in their bio/name and all they do is praise Toyota... for a reason.

I was getting those responses before anyone even knew about the recall, though.
