IMG_0219.jpg This is for the rear bolts on the factory cat shield. Does the rear cross member have to be removed? Or do I need channel locks to remove these bolts?

i would suggest that you contact the dealer where you purchased the truck from, and ask what brand of cat shield that is installed, and either ask them how to remove it, or if they tell you who makes it, find their website and use the install instructions to remove it.

i have never seen anyone post one that looks like that, i'm not certain of what brand that is.

unless someone knows better than i do, i think that is not a factory toyota part, i would think if it was, it would be Hydroformed out of 1 piece and not have any welds to make manufacturing it very easy

I’ll ask them. My 24 only had 8 miles on it when I bought it. Even the 24 4Runners had them as well.

It looks to be an OEM cat shield. It's a carriage bolt holding it on. The cat shield has a square hole to keep the bolt from spinning. You'll need a deep socket to reach the nut from the top of the cross member. Sadly I don't remember what size socket is required.

That’s a gulf states dealer cat shield. I have one on mine.
