Wow nice terrain to travel, we have no such landscape like that here in the N.E.
Definitely send more pictures like that.

This drive was a chance comment over breakfast in Escalante. It’s unmarked, on the highway. And the next trip I’ll shoot some video.

The only thing I don't like about my SR5 TRD Off Road (the added chrome). Who at Toyota thought this was a good idea?

Chrome? Who thought putting giant tires and lifts on trucks was the way to go?

It is all cyclic. Some years down the road blacked out will be bad and folks will pay extra for chrome and lowering their pick up trucks.

My 1794 LE just has a little dark chrome on it and my wife hates it, she liked all the chrome on the 2023 1794. I personally like the chrome but I like the Midnight Black with dark chrome and all black on the LE as time has passed.

Just like Raptor lights and a Carolina Squat things become a fad and then fade away, chrome is forever if tastefully done.

I guess I’m just old school and kinda old, but I like some bling on my things lol. I find everything looks like someone painted it with a crayon these days .

See, this is what I'm talking about!
That's all old school and real chrome which has a purpose, functional but yet bling with proportionate amounts without the over kill.

All of the chrome today is stupid plastic and waaaaay to much of it,it's honestly just for pictures "looks cool on paper" like a Chuck Foose rendering.
I dunno about the rest of you but today's vehicles,I'm not just talking trucks but all vehicles exterior wise are all plastic.
Sorry for getting out of line but....I dunno, but there is to much plastic pretending to be chrome.

I don’t know; color matched plastic front bumpers seem to do a significantly worse job of holding up to rock chips than the chrome metal bumper caps.

They do weigh less though, so you get a sweet payload bump swapping them out for plastic :benchpress:

I’ve said it in other threads but worth repeating here. A little chrome is awesome and only works on classic colors (black, white, gray, red, blue).

The new muted/flat colors (lunar rock, cement, solar, one of the blues, etc, etc) need color match or black accents.

I replaced the gloss black fog light bezel with the brushed chrome bezel off of the Capstone and added the black Tundra lettering. Changes the front look drastically.

Chrome accents on a Silver body truck is a good match, and the bezel mod ties that front end in nicely!

I like my chrome, and I really like being able to see my wheels. Blackout is cool too, but chrome is what they call down here, muy elegante.

I think color matched (blacked out) looks “cooler” and more aggressive. Chrome looks more expensive.

Couple years when I was building out my ideal tundra, immediately preferred color match (XP package or nightshade) over the chrome.

Since buying my limited nightshade, chrome has grown on me. I think regular limited looks good other than the mustache.

Showed my FIL this pic and he thought the chrome looked better. Maybe it is an era thing.

Depends on the truck. The worst offenders are the flat colors with chrome. For instance my quicksand with chrome just doesn’t match. My truck looks way better all black and paint matched. However my 08 nautical blue with chrome looked sweet. You just have to do it right. And those NFAB side steps and rbp grill were stainless steel not cheap plastic.

I hate chrome with the heat of a 1000 suns, to me it just looks tacky, I've spent lots of money on my last few vehicles getting rid of chrome.

I don’t like interior chrome reflecting sun into my eyes.

I tape it over for long road trips.

Don’t have the skills or desire to delete it.

Thanks, do you have the part numbers that you used on the grille and foglight bezel? Is your grille the matte black/ gray? I think I have the part numbers figured out, but having trouble getting a complete list with visual conformation.

Early 30's here. I find chrome on new vehicles a bit tacky. However, on classic vehicles, it looks great.

I have plenty of chrome on my truck if someone wants it…looks great on classic mopar and motorcycles, but not modern vehicles. None of them.

This is the part number for the fog light bezel 539310c190 that I ordered from SparksToyota. I don't have the part number for the grille as it came with the truck. The grille is kind of matte black. There is some gloss to it but not much.
