My 2011 tundras moon roof isn’t working properly. It opened in the up position but will not lower/close. Fuses are ok n I went thru the reset process per owner’s manual still doesn’t work? Any suggestions

Open your overhead console; the little credit card holder and sunglass holder...

Confirming it's lubed properly. I normally use white lithium (very thin layer) on the moving parts... If that doesn't work, I'd access the motor and make sure you don't have any debris stuck in the plastic/metal gearing; that area traps a crap ton of hair, dirt and other debris...

remove 4 torx screws to give you access to the motor; remove 2 or 3 (can't remember) 10mm bolts and you should be able to pull the motor assembly straight down (if it's never come out before or if it's clogged w/crap it may fight you a little) but be careful not to pry at an angle or side to side. Just pull straight down, and it should come out. The motor basically turns the small plastic gear it's attached to which turn the other gear that moves the rods from left to right to operate the sunroof. Once you have that out just make sure the teeth in the gears aren't broke an it's reasonably clean (air compressor it out if you need to) and lubed.

Also, when it opens up (not back) it has the 2 little arms on both sides of the glass (that can be seen from inside the cab) that another piece 'rides' on as it opens and closes (up and down); just make sure those don't have debris block their movement either... If I remember those pieces also affect the opening and closing process when the moonroof slides open and closed (at the beginning and at the end) as the roof tilts out of the seated position and back into it when closing.

    Good luck!!!!

Damn, that's gonna be a bitch tbh. You may need to test the motor. Is there anything else electrically that's not working?? If there is other things like taillight, license plate lights, door locks and sometimes speakers it may be attributed to the body ECU, but this appears to be a common issue on the Tundras, long ago, but I haven't personally seen them on this site. I've seen them in other sites which some are long gone. I would test the motor, before going about removing the entire assembly and repairing it, but here is a link to an 02 being repaired. It's probably an electrical issue, but if you're not getting anything whatsoever then you may have to dig in deeper.
