Hi folks, had my 2019 Voodoo Blue truck about a week and it will need new tires soon. It came from Carmax with 3 originals and one brand-new tire (strange!). And before you ask, yes I have used the search function, just looking for current input from Pro owners.

After reading through the 2.5-gen section of the tire sticky thread, I'll stick to the leveled front end guidelines. Do you Pro owners have experience with Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Toyo Open Country AT III/IV, or Kenda Klever R/Ts on one of these trucks?

I've had Ridge graps before and liked them a lot, so I lean towards them. Good looks, performed well, and rode better than expected. I can figure out size for myself, don't love the idea of wheel spacers but am not opposed to that, CMC, and/or taking a Dremel and zip ties to the fender liner if needed. Won't be going massive, but definitely bigger than stock. I didn't buy this truck for its stellar gas mileage, so I'm mainly curious about tire type and size you went with, ride and road noise, and experience in dry, wet, and loose (gravel/sand) terrain.

Side note: I've had two 4th-gen V8 4Runners in the past and did a lot of work to both... so funny that everyone's first question here and on those forums was "what tire size can I fit with ____ setup?" Never change, new owners! Pic of second T4R attached for fun. I shoehorned 305/70R17 Nittos (near 35") on a Dobinsons MRA remote resi setup, Doug Thorley long tubes, and a lot more work was done. It was pimpin'. I digress!

look over the wheel/tire forum here, lots of reviews and info.

Also, upper right- search function.....search the tires you want info on and you will easily find it. Tons of info on this site in past threads.

It'll fit as much as your wallet allows.

You can fit 35s with stock suspension, and no spacers, but if I was to do another Pro, I'll get the Nitto Terra Grappler G2, you can get 295/70r18 in SL-load, it'll still carry 2600lb per tire, and only weights 50lbs.

I have the Falken Wild Peak (3?). Not too loud, fantastic on and off road grip, and E Load capacity. I have 30K on them and they still look new. I went with 175/70/18's. Not to big, but noticeably larger than OEM. No rubbing.

I'm 99% set on Falken WP's but now they have the AT4 option so still trying to decide on size. Also keeping stock 18" pro wheels. Was all set on 285/75 but weight and pricing has me leaning towards 275/70...
@Bulldog9 do you have a full shot of the truck?
    What's your P-car?

    I have 2 P cars, a 1976 912E and 1989 944 S2. The 912 is a keeper, the 944 I am not sure. Both were rescues and restorations.

The wallet comment is all too true! I don't mind the terra grapplers but it appears they've been discontinued in 295/70R18. I'm set on the Toyo AT3s at this point. They look good, get excellent reviews, and are the lightest E1 sidewall tire out of the ones I'm looking at (62lbs at 295/70R18). It'll be 2 or 3 months before I get them but I'll update once they're on the truck and I get some mileage on them.

Darn, that's a shame, I do know the new Falken ATW4 has 35x11.5r18 in c-load, skinny 35s in that size fits stock Pro without modifications, just need to remove the front flaps, like Bulldog, I had AT3W and it was great tires, quiet and easy to balance.

So would you go c rated instead of the 285 e rated? Looking for an easy fit with no mods.

I think that depends on your usage. If you're just after looks with occasional light off-roading, C would be fine and ride well on the road. E will have thicker sidewalls, ride a little stiffer but I'd feel more comfortable on trails, especially scenarios where rocks could puncture a sidewall.

But why? My bitchelins did great with all these big tire trucks (black truck).
    IMG_2747.jpg
Did the sedona trail at 25psi. I've run em up to 60, but settled on 40f & 38r. Smooth, quiet, and they last forever. I'm only 15k into these (they're from '18 and i've only had the truck from '22), but i got 100k out of em on the titan.

That's impressive mileage. I'm sure the Michelins are better behaved on the road, and they'll certainly outlast the AT3s I get put on. But, the AT3s satisfy the inner ape mindset... they're gonna look awesome (I hope). As my friend and I say when we're hittin' licks on singletrack trails on our mountain bikes, 90% of it is looking good!

Went for 295/70R18 Toyo Open Country AT3s. Initial 48hr impression is I need to mess with PSI to find the ideal balance between longevity and ride comfort... they're still a bit too stiff. Other than that, really happy with them

I ran Ridge Grapplers right after they came out and now run Toyo Trail RT which I got about 6 months after release, both hybrid. The Ridge Grapplers were down right dangerous once 1/2 worn on wet pavement and these Toyo Trails with about 8-10k are not looking any better. Both tires I ran 35 psi. The Toyo AT3 on our 4runner are outstanding in wet and winter (they're 3 peak mountain snowflake rated). My favorite for my truck were the Nitto Trail Grappler but with only 40k life on 2 sets (I change at ~3/4 worn), not really needing a M/T, and the weight I decided to go a different route with the Toyo Trail. Although a M/T, the Trail Grapplers did everything I could ask for without any worries.
