    Good day!
There is a lot of aluminum on the 2000 Tundra 4.7L engine.
Does anyone have a picture of all that aluminum polished up nice and shiny?
I would love to see one.

    Cheers!

    I see a Tundra
And I want it painted black
    No colors anymore
I want them to turn black

I see the girls walk by
    Dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head
    Until my darkness goes

    I see a line of 1st gens
    And they're all painted black
    With flowers and my love
    Both never to come back

    Cool. Post a picture here.
I used Dom16 on the valley between the cylinder heads after chipping and wire brushing all the rust off.
I had to. I installed a brand new starter on it a couple years back and it sat. The rust and scale, and squirrels blocked the drain holes so the water built up.
It seeped right by the o-ring seal and into the starter drive and solenoid.
It was toast. I now have another new starter in it and a nice shiny slick surface for the water to run out.

I cleaned mine up but just didnt have the time to give it a good go.
Thats why I was asking for the picture.
If it looks real good I will put it on my list of things to do.

i cant find it at the moment, but theres a pic of a yellow 1st gen with a procharger rocking a polished intake manifold. Or maybe it was ceramic coated.

I was thinking of using a fine sandpaper disk and then wet sanding. It would remove a lot of casting ridges. It would take a lot of time though.

I had more than one early truck with a polished valve cover.

A lot more flat space on the 20/22r covers though. UZ covers would be no small task.

Polished looks great in an engine bay, and its easy to keep clean. Just give it a microfiber wipe every now and then.

That is a very good look for a valve cover! You are right though, not a lot of flat surface on my 4.7.
    Thanks for the picture.
    Cheers!
