Glad to have stumbled across the forum! Probably like many it happened while searching for how to make a repair. In my case, it was for the somewhat dreaded (I now know) rack and pinion replacement on my 2012 Tundra, base model, 4x4, long bed double cab. I have owned it now for a year.

This is my first Tundra, and I have also owned a few other Toyotas including 2nd gen and a 3rd gen 4Runners.

Actually ran across a YouTube video first, that followed the procedure for the R&P replacement that papasmurf has posted here. Please forgive me that right now I don't know how to imbed his handle link in this post. Want to say Thanks! Happy to report that I was able to get it done with the help of the info he compiled. Glad I didn't have to pull the engine, which the factory manual says is necessary.

Looking forward to finding resources in the future, as I'm sure I'll be running into things with this 12yr old that's new to me!

The only mods going on so far are a Bilstein leveler kit, and some 285/70/18s on stock rims, which it turns out will require some trimming of the skid plate in front. Swapped out the steering pump and CV axles for new, while the rack was being replaced, and oh yeah, a remote horn button until further investigation can be made as to why it's not working. Unbeknownst to me, some previous knucklehead made some changes inside the main fuse block, and now not everything is not necessarily where it should be! Fun!! Lesson learned. Take a peek inside that fuse box when you're shopping!

Now... where's the little button to submit this post...aha!
