Sometimes it's the best way. But ratchet straps........ That's dangerous not sketchy.

Yeah, I'm firmly in your camp with the sketchy ratcheting coil compressors. I've used em and didn't die.
I don't think I'd use ratchet straps though.

It's all about not being complacent with them. I've used them 100 times or more, and I still get weirded out using them. Keeps me paying attention to what I'm doing. That may be a bit much for some folks here's....

Just to be clear, the coilover was bolted in and still contained in the lower control arm and upper spring mount.
But ya I won't be telling my wife. I thought I could confide in this group.

No circlip. I was freeing tension to turn the preload nut.

Yup, yellow left, only replying to add: Yellow always left on front and back, yellow always forward when on the sides.

Don't overtighten. Or Tighten finger tight and double nut. Your shit will break. That shit is garbage, someone is making a fortune on them.

Meanwhile, I did something today. Guy with the GX470 OEM wheels never did call back. Meh. Maybe he'll call. We'll see.

Anyone need some Tactiks for their Jeep? I'll sell 'em cheap cheap! It's a deal, better not sleep!

    Interesting.

On my Kings, I just loosened the tension bolt on the preload collar, gave the collar three complete turns with the spanner wrench, tightened the bolt, and put the wheels back on on the truck.

King bling, baby boy. Better believe. :burp:

I had to work my way up from 5100's with TRD coils on top notch, to Toytecs, before I reached perfection.

Y'all wanna see real sketch. I'm hoping it seats on this test drive. They're springs have like zero QC. The bottom coil was over rounded. Had to cut like an 1/8 inch off, then had to break out the Dremel and started shaving down all the contact points....... That took like 2 hours doing fit ups...... Lesson to be learned here ROUGH COUNTRY IS TRASH ASS PRODUCTS.

It's about both the physical and spiritual journeys you go on with these rigs.
