    Hi all,
Weekend work ended up with some scratches on the tailgate and a fender (both metal and plastic areas). Qs:
    1. OEM touch up paint the way to go?
    2. Do I need to get clear coat touch up (I think I saw that)?
    3. Some of the scratches have a bit of turned up edges. How should I prep those edges?

    Thanks all!

Need pictures to say whats needed. OEM paint is always the best but it can still not match sometimes and a proffesional should be visited for exact paint match. You don't neccesarily need clearcoat on touch ups but it does make it look better after wet sanded and polished. The prep depends on the damage and how much area needs repair.

Touch paint from a pen is not going to do much for those scratches but make it look worse. The front fender area is going to have to sanded, masked off and sprayed, then matched and polished. The scratches in the bed seem pretty deep, if it not in a noticeable area the factory touch up pen may cover it up. The turned up edges will have to be sanded down. Experiment with the bed area as it will be less noticable.
