Turning to an Internet forum where 70% of posters are here to slam the 3rd Gen is probably not a good idea

The only way to deal with something like this is to record the conversation surreptitiously between you and everyone involved, make sure you get them to say their name and title on the recording. I'd never walk out of a dealership if the tech said he heard the noise and the paperwork they gave you when you left said he didn't hear anything.
You should insist that you ride with the tech on the test drive. Scope out the area first and find a quiet street that allows the speeds you need to get the truck to in order to make the noise. Allowing the tech to drive on a busy street with lots of traffic that won't allow him to get up to speed won't get results. If you have a dash cam turn on the in cab sound recorder so that catches the conversation also.

Are they sure it has enough oil? I hate to be that guy but pull the fill plug and check. If it’s low there’s your problem.
