I've hauled lot's of 600lb road bikes in the bed. Love the AVS. No problems loading across the tailgate wither.

Honestly, I haven't even put it in the truck other than to get it home because I live on the ATV trail, so I just ride through my woods and I am on it, no need to go elsewhere.

As the others have said, I don't think it would stress the engine out much, if at all, just having it in the back. I think the more concerning issue is to not have the weight on your tailgate. Many years ago my family member was behind a toyota Tacoma with an ATV in the back, the back wheels were resting on the tailgate and on the highway said tailgate decided it had had enough and it snapped off and out came the ATV. My ATV weighs in at just over 700 lbs and I drove it about 50 minutes home and had no issues. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Thank you all, I plan on pulling the plugs on the tires which should allow me to completely close the tailgate (works on 6.5ft bed silverados). If you have a way to air back up before unloading I highly recommend hauling atvs this way. always worked well for me. I’m hauling an outlander 850 quite a beast at a little over 800lbs… I am still well within my payload which is 1300 pounds. Still no idea why Toyota would remove something as important as a trans cooler. I am probably worried over nothing but I just recently purchased the truck and just want it to last. So far no complaints the truck is amazing and army green is the best color ever lol.

I’ve been hauling atv’s in the bed of trucks since 1998 and never once had an issue. I’d rather haul them in the bed than on a trailer.
