    Shopping for tundra 5.7 2021 to tow a 20’ airstream (3700# dry)
Car max and Carvana seem not to address the Toyota tow package.
My understanding is this comes w hitch,7 pt plug, towing mirrors, trailer brakes, and rear
    End and engine modifications.
Is this true and does Toyota list it in their truck specs?
When I get support from dealers above they cite tow capacity when I asked about tow pkg
    Thanks, FT

Link to for sale ad? VIN lookup? That would help us track down an answer for you.

More than likely, there will be a hitch and 7pt plug. You would need certain packages for trailer brakes, and towing mirrors. All rear-ends and 5.7 engines are the same.

Tow mirrors seem to be hit and miss... but you can always add those fairly easily in the future (plug and play about an hour install time). My '21 Pro has tow pckg, but no towing mirrors.

    Trailer brake: Yes
    Engine Mod: No
    Rear end: No

If possible 18" wheels will give you a much better ride than the trims w/20"
Pro package has no rear sway bar and a softer suspension (for off-road); my '21 Pro is much different than my '08 SR5.

If you can find a TRD Off-Road SR5, Limited, Platinum or 1794, you'll probably be pretty happy w/it.

I added the RAS HD to my '21 Pro in preparation for towing (a touch of lift/support for the rear leaf springs and to stabilize sway a bit w/o having to install a sway bar and lose rear end articulation)...

Lots of debate on the lack of dedicated trans cooler in the '19s-'21s, but those can be had aftermarket if you're seeing trans temps getting too high while towing, or you can shop for a lower mileage 2017 or 2018 (both have coolers w/tow package). For what it's worth my '08 had tow package w/cooler, and I never had a problem overheating while towing (even when pulling in Vegas during the summer).

    Good luck on your search!!!

I,ve found a Tundra Limited 2021 on Carvana.
Hitch and connector in place, I can put in brakes and get mirror on.
Should I prepare for beefed up suspension.
I don’t know what RAS HD is- pls explain
    Many thanks, FT

Just remember Toyota "Tow Packages" haven't included a true external transmission cooler in years - you should probably add one for the trans' longevity and a way to monitor its temps in use. Luck and enjoy the Yota.

Do the gen 3 Tundras has the external transmission cooler or still without?

Just another option for you to consider.
I used the RAS on my tacoma and it did help with suspension and the amount of sag. Here is something I did on my current F-150 that is easier to install and does basically the same thing. I'm picking up a new 2024 Tundra next week and plan to install this as well, they are currently making for the 3rd Gen Tundra now, should be out in a few months. Super easy to install these.

    Lots of stuff!
Congrats on the Truck! Sounds like you will have a nice setup with the Airstream.

Your little trailer will probably have between 500 and 650 lbs on the tongue (higher number if it is newer). There are many options to make the rear sit up as mentioned like the RAS and the Sumos if you find that the truck is too nose up with the trailer on board.

    Pics are always appreciated...
