Hi all, I got Mickey Thompson Baja Boss 295/70/R18's installed about 4,000 miles ago with the RC 1.75 leveling kit up front and cornfed spacers in the rear. I am having MASSIVE tread wear issues up front from the outside in. Back tires no wear at all - perfect. I bought these from Tire Rack who set me up with an appointment at Discount Tire to have them inspected for warranty. The guy is telling me this looks like due to something mechanical - something with the upper control arm not being adjusted properly during the install.

Below are some photos. I am no suspension expert at all, but it looks like I have a bit of positive camber going on here. The installer I used sent it out to a 3rd party for the alignment. The final picture shows the tread of the back tire - brand new no tread loss. Here are the specs of the MT tires as well. At discount the rears measured 16 depth across the tire. The fronts, however, were 13-10-7. In many spots however it looks as though the tread is almost gone!

Can someone share their thoughts? Would this be from improper alignment or from something more mechanical from the installer?

Alignment is jacked up. Unfortunately those tires are toast.

I’ve got over 30k on my Baja bosses and they look better than those by a mile lol definitely an alignment issue

    Chandler, AZ, not anymore :(
    This.

I thought the same thing as others, as soon as I saw the pix. Alignment is fucked.

It does not look like they ever aligned your vehicle after the install.
