I'd like to amend this statement. On the way to my buddy's place I had a tailwind. Towing home today into the wind was miserable.

Shy of a breakdown/failure that was the worst towing I've experienced. Today is the first time I've regretted trading the Tundra.

 

It ran in 3rd for most of it almost at redline to go 65 mph. Toggled ECT and saw no difference when on or off. It was abysmal.

 

Probably not; that would risk having the rough 'char' sandblasting the tip

 

Did you think about maybe switching things up... put the Taco on the trailer, hook the trailer to the bike and see if the bike would've done better

 

You guys out there are nasty.

 

Am I a jerk? Maybe. Will I have a spot to park my trailer on Saturday? Also a maybe.

I didn't expect it to be towing great, but this is less than half the rating (closer to a third), and it was shaking my seats so bad my kidneys are upside down. My disappointment is extreme.

I have two choices:

1. Replace the Taco with a full size
2. Never tow on the interstate if there is wind

I live in Wyoming. There's ALWAYS wind. As much as I love the daily driving of the Taco, I didn't realize it would suffer so much with light towing.

 

It couldn't have done much worse.

 

I heard there's an army green Pro for sale in WA

We've got a Burnt Orange or Terra Cotta (or whatever they're calling that color now) 2024 Pro here at the local dealer that's been sitting for a while; they're asking MSRP (or I think they're calling it TSRP now) you can probably negotiate that down a bit

 

Not paying more for a used Tundra than I bought mine for new. Not taking a bath on the Taco Pro so a dealer can gouge the next guy, either.

Did a carvana quote (they don't do trims, just options) and it was an insult at 38K.

 

Looks like most '21 Pros w/reasonable mileage are sitting at about $49-$51k...

Saw one w/135k for $35k

 

I wouldn't get a Pro Tundra. 2018+ SR5 off road with a 38 gallon tank and less than 45k miles are priced 42-45K. I got mine with all that and BSM for 41.

If I change trucks again it'll likely be a 3/4 ton because new half tons are dog shit twin turbo jobs.

In all likelihood I'm just stuck with what I've got because I don't want to take on more debt.

 

You can get the F150 w/the V8 coyote motor now....

 

Probably find a nice best gen on BAT with less miles and less money……..
