I've actually heard great things about Elkas, but after learning about how much travel can be achieved with King's extended travel coilovers, anything else feels like you're leaving money on the table.

@jberry813 did a nice review on Elka vs Kings with his SC Tundra. Pretty interesting coming from a suspension hooker...and he actually is on race teams.

He rated them pretty good if I remember correctly.

I went with extended length as well due to GMs being slammed to the ground with minimal travel. Only thing you can do is put it up 1.5-2.5" to improve that.

    Big difference right there.

Yeah I read that thread a while back, very informative. I agree with his conclusion that Elka's as better if your truck isn't your wheelin rig and you don't need all of the travel and instead prefer better overall drivability. I think my use case is a little different as I don't (yet) have a dedicated offroad rig, so my truck sees many trail and road miles. Hopefully one day this truck will be that dedicated rig and I'll have LT, short wheelbase, etc, but until then mid travel it is.

Oh you got the 3.0's, I've read that those are a much better product than the typical 2.5's. That sounds like killer setup!

I had Bilstein 6112/5160. Never again will I get digressive shocks. I went with Fox PE 2.5. For one, the price. I got them from Summit for under $3k for all 4. I did however change out the coils from 700lb to 600lb because I am 2wd and wanted it a bit softer upfront. Your 4wd so 700lb will work. For what most of use our trucks for, just choose whatever you like. They will all perform great.

Thought I'd come back and give y'all an update. I decided on the kings from accutune and just got the fronts installed this weekend! Couldn't be happier with how they turned out!

    IMG_5911.HEIC.jpg

It was a major PITA getting all of the original components out like the LCAs and UCAs since everything was seized with 17 year old rust. Ended up taking around 6-7 hours and 5 Diablo amped blades to cut the cam adjustment bolts off on the LCAs. Got pretty lonely laying under the truck sawing away at those bolts for hours with nothing but my blower fan to keep me company in the 100+ degree heat.

Needless to say, the ball joints and bushings were toast.

Can't wait to get the rear to match the front. Still deciding on exactly what I want to do with the rear leaf springs. I reached out to Deaver but they haven't responded yet and it's been almost 2 weeks.
Might give Alcan a try as I'm getting tired of waiting lol

    IMG_5903.HEIC.jpg

Only casualty with the install was I snapped the threads off of the inside of the frame for one of the sway bar mounts. Currently running the truck without it and to be honest I don't notice much of a difference (if any)

The end links on the sway bar were in horrible shape and I'm not sure they were really doing anything at all for street driving. I thought about buying a longer bolt and dropping it down from inside the frame with a lock washer and just adding a nut on the bottom to mount the reservoir brackets up correctly (and maybe the sway bar if I change my mind and want it back). On the passenger side there's only one bolt holding the bracket in but I'm not too worried about it coming off.

If anyone else has some input on the front sway bar and if you've deleted it on your truck let me know! So far, I don't really miss it. I am also yet to drive this at 80 mph down the interstate so maybe I'll miss it more then.

Looks great! Couldn't go wrong with either setup and the guys over at Accutune are great to deal with and they'll always help to get your rig dialed.

As for the front sway bar, I removed mine off my '24 and have no issues with the driving characteristics. I also drove for nearly decade without one on my FJ Cruiser and again, never felt I needed it. Had a handful of scenarios where I had to make quick evasive maneuvers and never had a thought about a sway bar after the fact. Everyone has their own opinion on it, but the right thing to do is to try it for yourself and decide if you can live without it.

+1 for running without a sway bar. I removed mine almost a year ago an i really can't tell a difference on road. I recently added a good bit of weight to the truck with armor, and even still the body roll is similar to stock. If Deaver is giving you the cold shoulder, give SDHQ a shot. Many members on here shop though them and I believe they generally have a large inventory

Weird that Deaver isn’t responding. I’d call them again in case someone missed a message. They were very responsive and helpful when I was spring shopping.

In Alcan’s defense, they’re were also very responsive. I don’t think you can go wrong with either of them.

I did try contacting them through their "contact us" section on their website instead of calling them. I'll give them till Thursday and either send another email or give em a call. I'm not to much in a hurry anyway as I still need to order the rear shocks as well.

Yeah, I rarely use the “Contact us” clicky shit on a company’s website. If they don’t list their phone number, I just Google it and call the front desk for help. They’re (not Deaver specific) typically very helpful and get me to someone that can answer any questions I have and offer their knowledge to get me pointed in the right direction.

Call me impatient for not wanting to wait for their customer service team to finally get a message and respond via a canned email all you want. I see it as me being a good customer that prefers the personal connection and real-time sales advice that can only be gained via a live conversation.

Deaver is open till 4:00 today.

I talked with Jeff when I picked out my springs. Very helpful.

I'm not a big fan of emailing either, I just do most of my shopping/browsing for truck parts at like 12 in the morning lol
