A lot of localities around here do events on the 3rd..
We're thinking about going to Garland tomorrow, I actually grew up there.

Our city did its fireworks show Saturday, June 29th.
We sit on the back porch and watch them go off from the local park every year..

This one is just north of Dallas, but its one of the top 5 in the nation..
No way we'd go to it, way too many people..

Havens celebration from the Club House dock....depending on how many drunk neighbors are being obnoxious.....

My son caught one of them playing "Touchy feely" with my "Colors" on the cart while at the pool with his Mom & quickly reminded them that his Dad

is CRAZY ..

One of the reasons we moved here, less driving and that LAKE makes Life a little easier ..... I miss my River BUT not the BS associated with

rebuilding there...

That was the old house view in FT.Myers..... along the Caloosahatchee River...

After having two "100 year" storms hit us within 4 year span I gave up ( insurance gave me a nudge) and we are now inland surrounded by Lakes...

Going through that MESS showed me exactly what this CRU is made of ....

They "Walk the walk" and still "Talk the Talk" ... Very thankful for that...

 

....or the major retailers are deciding that the 4th is no longer an appropriate holiday to celebrate

I have this picture from a friend. It was taken during the ‘40’s and I tried to get a photo from the same spot. I’m planning to get a framed print to give him.

 

We actually almost bid on the historic restoration project for the lodge back in the ‘80’s, but the snow closes the road for all but about 3 months a year. We would have had to do the work over 4 years, and the logistics of transporting from Arizona seemed unmanageable.

 

Very nice but I still see snow.

That would probably look really nice in like an antique wood frame.

 

Let's not forget our roots here people. Older games deserve respect too.
