I'll join the club in about 6 years at my usual miles per year.

I can't imagine 100K in 2+ years. You must live in that thing.

    What recall?
    Hehehe

Thanks to all for the positive comments
I think the whole recall thang is fear mongering at its best, like covid
It's not fake rather speculated/exaggerated to death....negativity always gets more attention than positivity sadly
    We thrive on others failure
    Truly sick

I'm happy to live in America, drive a modern toyoda truck, have 400 hp/get 20mpg, & get to push (in what my opinion looks like) a life size transformer toy from my childhood everyday

    I'm living the dream
    F the recall crap

    Cheers to all!!!!

I just took a 700 mile trip but still way off of 100k. Just hit over 8k with my 24 but the truck was great on the roadtrip!

I’m only at about 55K right now but hope to join the club eventually. I don’t think a 100K club is as eagerly shared and promoted as an engine failure thread. Who could’ve guessed (he stated sarcastically)

There are consistently Gen 3s with +100k miles on Autotrader. Highest I have seen is 175k.

There folks are using trucks for a job driving 50+k a year. They are not on social media posting about their trucks; they are too busy driving them.

But they are out there. Hundreds or maybe even thousands of them as we enter model year 4 of this gen.

I’m at 97K on my June built 22 Platinum. I do a ton of driving and other than some early QC fixes and a bunch of happy to have fixed updates and recalls for free, all I’ve done is brakes and 5k oil changes. Truck drives like a dream, it’s clean, and to me it’s the best looking truck on the market. I look forward to driving it every time I get behind the wheel. I feel blessed knowing that in the near future Toyota will be slapping in a new engine and I can do it all over again. Best truck I’ve ever been in!!!

As a 2nd Gen owner this is the stuff about 3rd Gen's I love reading about; would I REALLY want to drive anything else when it's time for replacement????

Unfortunately, yelling angrily gets more attention than shouting good things...

Have you ever driven a 3rd gen? I traded my 2012 for a 2022. Same trim. I don’t regret it for a second. Everything is better. I absolutely love driving it. I’m sure Toyota will get this engine sorted out. I don’t know how many manufacturers would replace 100k engines in this day and age.

I truly enjoy driving this thing everytime I get in.

if you think you'll get better from GM, Ford, or Ram, your kidding yourself. Shit happens to everything, and when it does toyota always steps up better and takes care of shit.

The better question is "are you able to afford the 3rd gen?"

My 3rd gen drives much better than my '16 Limited 5.7L V8 and my GX460.

That is not the kind of question I have any business asking. Everyone’s finances are their own and we’re only doing the positive vibes thing here if I understood the OP correctly. Also, from what some of the negative Nellie’s said, he might even be able to trade his gen 2 on a gently used 3 AND make some money!!

I traded n a 2015 Ram Ecodiesel for 22 Tundra. Primary reason was the delaminated engine control knob recall that Chryslers fix was a 2 year powertrain warranty extension. If the knob failed the buyer was on the hook for a new diesel engine after warranty expired.

There are much worse things that having the OEM replace your engine in advance of failure. Like you the buyer eating a new engine bill post failure. Big 3 will leave you hanging.

Awesome ! How long did brakes last you and did you keep replacement OEM ? ..only at 10k miles and brakes still look new. (light on brakes)

Rear brakes go faster on these trucks. I just did my 2nd set of rears at my last oil change at 95k. First set was at around 45 k I believe. Did fronts at 55k. Dealer said my fronts are totally fine right now. OEM pads and rotors

Just hit 100k this weekend! 2022 Limited CrewMax 4x4, non-HV. September 2022 build, entered into service on 7-OCT-2022. VIN is in the recall range, and I’m hoping to drag my feet to 200k before having the motor replaced.

Aside from following the maintenance schedule religiously, I’m on my second set of tires and pretty close to getting a third. Rear pads and rotors at 90k service, fronts still have considerable pad thickness left (I mainly drive freeway miles). New spark plugs at 40k & 80k, per the service manual.

Here are some pics showing when the truck is happiest (it loves the terrible Northern Michigan winter weather).IMG_2392.jpg IMG_5858.jpg IMG_0379.jpg IMG_0380.jpg
