They do look friggin awesome too.
Beggin for a remote mount turbo setup.
I think that might be the goal for the 03 btw. So I'm going to need to learn everything I can from your turbo build when that happens.
I realize you're going for a front setup, but I still could learn a lot for helping you or just picking your brain.

The guy that I got Beau's headers from was in the process of building a customer m front turbo setup with customern headers. He had used the longtubes for a remote turbo prior.

I got one from advanced auto for my 03 taco. Not sure if it's the same for these trucks, but I bet you a sixxer of Shiner it's the same.

Also I wonder how you know what it's pointing to. That's my biggest concern with the ones everyone's going crazy for. That little tiny baby divit isn't enough indication for my eyes. I wonder if the new ones light up. No one's posted em in the dark yet with the dash lights on

I found the JDM crystals on craigslist about 10 years ago. Some local guy was selling a TRD xB swaybar for something like $60. He threw in the crystals for another $40. So i walked away with some hard to find parts for cheap. At the time, my nieces absolutely loved the crystals when they first saw them. I could go either way, but it is something fun to have since they’re so over the top ostentatious.

I absolutely love my 2005 xB. I always wanted one ever since they were first released in the US in 2004. I bought mine around 2011. It’s definitely a keeper. Like i don’t foresee ever in my life that i would switch it out for a different vehicle. I would simply keep buying a 1st gen xB’s if mine ever quit.

The fuel economy is only so-so though. Do realize it’s a square box going down the road. I mostly drive at 55mph, and if i keep it there i can get 35mpg city/highway. Just cruising on the highway at 55mph, it will be about 38mpg. 70+mph will give me a return of closer to 28mpg.

What i absolutely love about the xB is that it really is a Tardis inside. I have it set up to haul carpenter tools or whatever else. I have a fairly stout roof rack, and i’ve hauled a little over 1000 lbs up top. I also have firestone overload airbags that are inside the rear coils for when i haul heavy. I also have a trailer hitch for towing dirtbikes and other shtuff.

My KTM 990 adventure bikes will juuuuust slip inside if i unbolt the fairing screen, remove the front tire, then drop the front forks (less than a 15 minute project). I’ve done multiple 1000+ mile road trips with a ktm riding shotgun. 6B4F898D-1C1D-419F-A592-28C7C74FDDAB.jpg5B7FFF03-1396-4A08-AEE9-F93FD48DD259.jpg82D3ECA9-A265-4B03-9818-3D9271C7DBEF.jpg

There’s a little arrow shaped divot that lights up a bit brighter than the rest of the crystal body when it’s dark outside. I also find that the divot itself is enough to navigate turning the knob during the daylight. I can get the knobs exact where i want them at a quick glance. There’s also muscle memory at well...counterclockwise the fan is turned off. Clockwise the fan is in high. I don’t even need to look at the knobs for basic functions.

    Love the Moto hauling action!

That basically confirms all my suspicions that I need one. I think it would make a great runaround car. My work truck is huge, and the Tundra has the camper in the back of it more often than not. Its small and efficient, but packs huge utility.

Talent aside (underestimated the wind, and used a beer box shield). Nevertheless, i am not deterred. I think i definately want my starfish bleached. Pure white, and i'll blacken the innards myself.

    IMG_7648.jpg

these steelies, i'm kinda leaning towards something a little darker. I still might have em copper plated, but it would probably be smarter to get a dark gray... maybe battleship grey...MF grey?

fyi swangas come in 17's in varying amounts of poke. Nobody says they have to have tiny tires.

xB is definitely on the list of potential cars for the kids. Still hunting. Other than appearances, any pros/cons to buying the 1st gen over 2nd gen?

If you want, I can just pop off my RR and L and trace them out on heavier paper and snail mail. Your call. But I guess this is also something you could probably nab easily at the next JY trip to pattern out.

I need to dump my 1GT parts bin to find the RR spare I've got.. I have a cutting grid around here somewhere I can slap it on also. LMK.

Alternately, this is what everyone told me to buy instead of getting new OEM for a one-piece unit that's indestructible, and for an alternate cheaper solution, Yota Liners (model T set is around $65).

Here are the OEM part numbers for RC/AC trucks if any future visitors need 'em.

I had a Honda Element SC. Don't leave those off the list of the xB is on it. Element has more interior room and

cons: after about 100-150k valves will get too tight and not allow enough movement and the engine starts to stall at idle. It's a 1hr valve spacing job that requires a feeler gauge and new gaskets.

and the starters will eat shit after about 100k as well. Easy swap nothing crazy.

other than that, it drove from sa to LA to SF to Seattle to Portland back down through the Rocky's. Absolute champ

"For the kids". Don't want more power. Reliability and easy maintenance is at the top of the list. And 30mpg hwy / 24mpg+ city would be nice.

I've shot the shit with @NUDRAT on this one quite a bit. Prius is the one that makes sense but I'd love it if the kids at least had something cool they could personalize.
