Luckily it’s all contained in a single thread that you can choose not to view called “2022 Tundra vs 2022 F-150 opinion?”

It wouldn't last because you spew bullshit and lies, if you could contain your emotions and just focus on the facts it would actually last. You'd just get flamed to the point of saying more stupid shit and getting banned.

Unfortunate market fact = I traded my 22 TRD CrewMax ORP, 16 k miles, for $44k,,,, other dealers offered $39k and $40k,

I also own a bullet proof (I hope) 2024 4Runner TRD ORP, and it makes me still love Toyota and hope that Toyota Execs fix the Engine Safety Recall sooner rather than later. And that the fix is a real fix that is fair and reasonable to Tundra owners!

Subaru gave all EJ25 STI owners a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty on the block issues they had. I would hope Toyota would do something similar. @Bannerman, just kidding Billy Ho.

Mine doesn't have Blue Cruise, but the lane centering plus adaptive cruise is pretty impressive for not really being a true self driving feature. Using it taught me that I tend to drive ever so slightly closer to the shoulder than the center line most of the time.

If you strap a 1 pound weight to the wheel it’s basically blue cruise without the eye tracking :anonymous:

or for people who don’t want a truck that is a mile wide because they actually do offroad them.

I test drove Supercab Raptors, and even with the shorter wheel base and tighter turning radius, they were still far to wide for a lot the trails I go on. I just took my LX570 out into the national forest by my house last weekend and even that was getting pin striped even though it’s like 2-3” narrower than a normal half ton

There actually is an entire section of the F150Ecoboost forum dedicated to talking about competitors to the F150. We have a Tundra thread there along with a Ram 1500 Hurricane thread, GM 3.0 Duramax thread, etc.

Same with the Jeep Gladiator Forum I was on for a bit.

I had thought I had seen the Tundra power ratings were based on 87 vs the F150 rated on 91 but looks like they both use 91 to rate the HP/Tq.

    From the owners manual:
You must only use unleaded gasoline. Select octane rating 87 (Research Octane Number 91) or higher.

Oh, what does Research Octane mean?

Edit: Google show this but still not super clear.

“Research Octane" is just one of two numbers used to determine "pump octane".

If you look at the gas pump, under the octane number it should say "Determined by the (R+M)/2 method". The "R" in the formula is the "Research Octane Number", the "M" is the "Motor Octane Number".

So if it says that to use 91 RON the MON would be at 83 hence (91 RON + 83 MON)/2 = 87 Pump Octane”

The US uses the AKI rating (anti knock index), not RON.

The number you see on the pump is the AKI, which is the average of the RON and MON. There's probably no way for the average person in North America to know the RON of the fuel they're using. I believe in Europe the number on the pump is the RON, which is probably why Toyota references it in their manuals (even for vehicles only sold in North America).

RON and MON are just two different lab test methods, hence why they're different numbers.

Ecoboost's, with the exception of the 3.5HO and the 2.3L in the mustang and one of the Expedition trims, have always been rated on 87.

Ford specifically calls out power ratings that were determined on premium.

I do a short bike ride loop whenever I have time and the weather cooperates. The past three times in a row, a beaver ran out in front of me to cross the road in the same spot. I think it's a very small creek that passes under the road in that spot. I wonder if one of these days I am going to run into a flooded road because of them.

Vacation duty again. Just un packed everything and unloaded bikes at the beach rental and sipping a beer on the porch while the wife and kid fall asleep inside next to their devices before we get ourselves together and go for steaks.

Always been a neutral color guy but every time I take a little bit to stare at this Rapid red I always fall in love with it. Actually Glad I listened to the 6 yr old on color and held out for something red in 2022, hard as it was at that time to be picky.

Really pops and always looks clean even when it goes weeks without a wash. Also can't get over going 2 weeks on a fillup and then driving a loaded truck an hour and a half and still probably not needing gas for a few more days. My 09 Crewmax would have needed 2, maybe 3 gas station trips by now.
