This new process of buying a vehicle you have never seen is new to me.

What is the process? Once you put down the deposit, what is the process for agreeing to a price? Since I can't even get an actual test drive of my truck until they build and deliver it, I am not sure how/when to negotiate the deal. The only thing I discussed when I gave the deposit weas not paying above manufacturer's price, but that was for a Tacoma which are harder to come by.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I'm confused. Toyota no longer builds to order. You should be telling them what you want or min requirements and they will tell you when they can get it (basically when Toyota allocates a truck with your requirements to that dealership or a nearby one that they can acquire via trade). I guess if you have a deposit you need to talk with them about if that rolls to the next vehicle if you are not happy with the "initial" truck they get for you. I guess you will have to negotiate the deal once they know what options will be on the truck they acquire for you.

I'd basically start doing my research and know what I want and what I don't want. For the want items, create your ideal price based on your market and what trucks are going for. Trucks are too expensive to not be happy with your purchase, they will get more and should be able to keep you on the list until they get one you like.

When I bought my wife's 21 Rav4, I found it pending arrival on the dealer website. Called the dealer and put down a refundable $500.00 deposit on that VIN number. When car arrived about 1.5 months later, I went in and negotiated the deal.
