been trying to track down my 4wd problem for a few weeks now. Read almost every 4wd post on this forum. 4wd light blinks when i try to put it in 4wd. Replaced both the front and rear actuators. I know the rear one is working. It locks the front driveshaft. I got the truck up in the air and removed the front actuator but left it plugged in and manually moved the collar in the front differential after pushing the 4wd button but cant even get it to engage manually. The front driveshaft locks and 3 tires will spin but for some reason the front passenger tire wont spin when I manually move the collar. I thought all four tires were supposed to spin. The 4wd light just keeps blinking. The actuator is getting power. It does move when I push the button.

Pay attention the steps, but the video content is important.

If you've replaced actuators and still seeing the problem, and you're positive install was good (I recall something with getting fork engagement correct?), you may want to consider the problem the entire time is your 4WD ECU is fried. I believe it's typically between the glove box and passenger kick panel.

Thanks for the reply. I did go through that thread. I know the front actuator is getting power. You would think I would be able to manually put it in 4wd by sliding the collar over in the front diff. after pushing the button butt it doesn't seem to be working. I also tried it with the actuator installed but it's not working either.

Latest update. I can get it into 4wd manually by sliding the collar over. All four tires spin. Earlier I think one of the tires was slightly touching the ground causing it to not spin. Even when get it into 4wd manually with the actuator plugged in and hanging down the 4wd light still flashes. Not sure what it is. Maybe the ECU?
