Hello all. I am In The market to buy a new tonneau cover so I went out to measure my truck bed. I noticed that the back rail across the back cab has a bend in it. So my question is it supposed to be like that stock or did it get bent. I purchased this truck a week and a half ago and my first truck so I don’t know what to look for. I don’t want to buy a cover if it’s not going to fit properly. Thanks

Yup, someone rammed an ATV or something hard against the front. Might be able to bend it back if you
got creative without removing the box. To be honest, removing the floor bolts might allow you to slide the
box back and get access to bend it back easier.

@tundiking - might get better feedback if you opened this conversation in the forum for the year
of your truck. It looks like 2021? So find correct Gen and put it up there

I think you can fix this yourself if you have a little HillBilly in you. You'll need a come along, some sturdy rope and two D ring tie downs.
Fasten the two D rings on the rear most bed bolts and pull from them. Pop out the plastic plugs on the lower front bed. Drop the rope down between the cab and the bed and pull a foot or so through the hole where the plug was. Tie that end to something strong like a 6" piece if 1" dowel rod or a stick.

Pull the other end with the come along tied to the D ring in the rear of the bed.

My idea would be two pieces of angle on front and rear each upper edge and just about 4 C Clamps to
    pinch it back flat. Easy.

Have your buddy sit back there and hold an 8' 4" X 4" up to the bend and just back up to a wall.

I'm thinking 2.6 MPH should do the trick.

Come to think of it a couple ratchet straps would do it.

HaHa! Not psychic, too much time on forums. I noticed the hood scoop actually cause I
have a weird idea of fitting that scoop on my 2010 hood, kinda like the idea.

I love the short hood on the Gen 2s for it's great visibility
Almost feels like driving a Van to me

I wouldn't want any scoop affecting the visibility, but it would look pretty unique if it fit well

Thank you all for the help. I’m getting some stuff together and try something. Great info you all given though. I’ll try them all. this my first truck. Coming from a 95 suburban. It is a 2020 SR5 TRD package. To be honest that front end is like driving a Mack truck for me. I can’t see over the hood compared to my Chevy which slates downward. But I have to say I’ve come to love the truck and I’m glad I purchased it. Again thank all you for the help.
