What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Yea, what is that about? Also have a box around waiting to do this. I did my door handles last weekend.

 

That cerakote is good stuff. I need to figure out what to use on my new wheels to help keep them clean and protected.

 

Whatever you do... DO NOT get that stuff on your car's paint; it'll mess it up. I mask off areas of paint with painter's tape to insure a clean job. This stuff works very well. That old WIPE-NEW (As Seen on TV) stuff works just as well and it lasts a very, very, long time...

 

I had my 35% tint on the front windows changed to 5%. I could not STAND having lighter front windows. I always thought it looked lame and a waste. These temperatures helped push me to get this done.

 

How did you polish your wheels? You had them taken somewhere and done?

 

Whats that like to drive at night?

 

The ceramic tint allows more light to pass through but maintains the UVR protection. Still dark but not that bad

 

You barely drive your truck. My '21 Tundra has 14k miles on it and I thought that was low.

And a lot of elbow grease with some old towels to get into the corners and crevices.

True. Well, I got this brand new in Nov 2023 and I work from home, so not a lot of driving. I did a Big Bend trip with the boyscouts few months back and I plan to have another long trip to Palo Duro canyon in September. Hopefully by then I will have the supercharger installed and dialed in for the long trip.

 

Rotated my tires. I didn't think to have the shop do it while installing the new wheels. No biggie since I had to pull them anyway to check my brakes. They started squeaking recently. They are StopTech Sport slotted rotors. The front pads looked good but the rear appear to be down to about 1/4 inch or so. I haven't gotten as far as to see if the noise is front or rear. I'm wondering if I should put new pads on front and rear and see what happens.

 

These tundras kseem to wear the rear faster than the fronts.

I just changed my rear pads along with the rotors. The fronts where done 2 years ago and they were fine.

 

My experience is the exact opposite of this. Fronts wore WAY faster

 

I'm just going to order both sets and compare them to the old ones. The rotors should be fine. They are backordered anyway.

 

Wheeled this morning. Came home removed the 2.5 bypasses and getting the rig ready to drop off tomorrow for some fab work. 3.0s will go on this week and LP9s.

I drove it to what I didn't realize was going to be a life changing visit with my wife's coworker. I am middle aged, I have a house, the house has a finished basement and a garage. Perfect little setup.

Needless to say, I feel about 35 years younger now. The things I didn't realize I needed in my life...

 

For the most part I don’t , I work from home and I use my legs to walk/bike to most places. Now, majority of those miles come from visiting family in California (1.2k mile round trip) and visiting my girlfriend or picking up groceries in a nearby city (40 mile round trip).

She’s a little dirty from a trail ride earlier today, but she doesn’t care what terrain I take her on…

 

Got my RCI bumper and skid plate mounted up. Couldn’t be happier with the build quality and looks




Sliders get their final coat of paint tonight then hopefully toss them on tomorrow after work!

It's nice to have a 3 ton Badland in the bed. I've had to use mine 3 times already to help people with flats.

 

Looks great! I've been working on my RCI slider install most of the afternoon - passenger side went on easy, drivers side ... well I see why everyone kvetches about the last two bolts near the gas tank! Seriously thinking about skipping them and using several Grade 8 M8s in the back third of the sliders; that or drop the gas tank later on (I've got ~3/4 tank now so too heavy).

 

How is the ride on the 8112’s? What shocks did you replace?

For now, yes. I’ll toss in some amber fogs when funds permit
